Volkl RTM 77 Skis + 4Motion 11.0 TC Bindings 2012: Yet another new shape in the innovative RTM series is the Volkl RTM 77 Skis. For advanced skiers who want a frontside ski that can handle some soft snow on a whim, the new RTM 77 over-delivers. Volkl's proprietary full rocker technology makes it smooth, silky, and forgiving all at once.
Shape
Extended Low Profile (ELP) Full Rocker gives the skier all the benefits of added maneuverability in soft snow while also delivering smooth, graceful arcs on groomed terrain. By matching the flex and sidecut with the full rocker (long, gradual bend from tip to tail) profile, the skier gains full, uninterrupted edge contact. The more you put the ski on edge, the more effective the edge becomes. The resulting smoothness and predictability is truly uncanny.
Construction
Extended Transmission construction has a reinforcement that is somewhat less pronounced, giving the ski a more relaxed ride quality, while still ‘keeping up’ as the skier improves.
Double Grip technology constructions continue to deliver incredible performance. This high tech construction consists of raising the height of the construction above the edge, creating added support for the edge, and in turn, better edge grip.
Bindings
The Marker 4Motion 11.0 TC Bindings incorporate into the Motion iPT SpeedRide system. This system features a wider interface than the original iPT, plus the Triple Pivot Comfort toe, based on the Triple Pivot Elite toe of Marker's Royal Family bindings. Shorter and lighter than the four linkage toe of the past, it offers enhanced power transmission. SpeedRide features either the Twincam heel in the 11.0 TC.

Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
Core and Flex Pattern
As the name suggests, the Dual Wood Core consists of parallel strips of wood surrounded by PU. Featured in the Power Grip construction, it is sandwiched between glass layers top and bottom.

      In the past I've owned a pair of the Volkl 724's, AC30's, and AC50's. Made our first tracks last night and I woke up and felt obligated to post a review, hands down the best ski I've owned.

        Final got out on the RTM 77's. Great carving ability that cuts through the heavy crud making you feel confident in its ability to hold the turn with ease while maintaining a smooth ride. Holds nicely on the ice which is essential here in the northeast. Much faster than my old ski which is great for when you went to let it rip but also reins in nicely for the runs with the kids. All in all a great all mountain ski for all conditions. My search is over and I am very pleased with my decision. The ski is great fun! All backed by Volkl quality and the excellent Evo experience. Thanks Volkl and Evo!

              I have been on skiis for over 25 yrs and demo a different pair of skiis almost everytime I go skiing. In general I love Volkls but these were the worst pair of skiis that I have been on in a long time. Instead of the skii working for me I was battling the skii the whole day. They were unstable, hard to get the tips to bite and initiate the turn, didn't hold an edge, and chattered when pushed hard on the double blacks. I wanted to like these but ended up hating them. I suggest a demo before purchase. Based on my review being so different from others I suspect you will either love them or hate them.

                First run of the season yesterday on my brand new skis that my girlfriend bought me. They were wicked flexible and easy to manuever. The bindings came out once when I stopped short but I put them on myself and am not sure if I tightened them enough. Overall a great first day of skiing though and I'm happy with them. They are rocker skis and I can tell the difference vs. my older, flat skis.

                  These skis were wonderful on piste, which is what they're designed for. Very responsive. They always did precisely what I asked, the exception being straight-line skiing at high speed, where they tended to get wobbly. I remedied this by performing very large-radius turns instead of just going straight. The skis also handled a few inches of powder quite well.

                  On top of that, they just look cool, for whatever that's worth.

                      First of all great service from EVO, the free shipping is really quick. The RTMs arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. I haven't tried the new sticks yet but from all the mag. reviews I've read these seem to be some good stuff. Plus I was really sold when I found out that the paired bindings are by Marker. I've had "muy" ski setups from all diffrent manuf's and when it comes to my gear, it has to be Marker bindings. In addition Men's Journal editors just picked the 2K13 RTMs as a top all-mountain ski!! Think Snow!
