Volkl Kuro Skis 2010: The Kuro comes in as Volkl’s widest ski for 2010. The unique rockered shape has unparalleled maneuverability in deep powder. With its Extended Low Profile design, the Kuro lopes through the deep stuff with ease, yet can still handle groomed snow better than any ski in the market of comparable width.

  • Core and Flex Pattern:Multi layer wood core with butter zones. The front of the ski is stiff; since the rocker design is pre-flexed, added stiffness in front provides stability. The flex in the mid-body of the ski is medium, providing a transition to the softer tail, which allows ease of turning on the groomed, and maneuverability in powder.
  • Construction:Power Construction: Völkl's longest-running construction utilizes traditional vertical sidewalls and a torsion box internal layup and provides tremendous grip, stability, and sensitivity. Tough Box: Constructed by wrapping the core with layers of fibreglass strands. Made up of numerous 4 X 4 wraps, and oriented at different angles, Tough Box increases the strength of the connection between ski binding and ski.
  • Shape:This fatty fat kills the backcountry without leaving any evidence. Built to slash pow like it ain’t no thang.
  • Binding Compatibility:Requires bindings with brakes of at least 130mm

Comments about Volkl Kuro Skis 2010:

To JP Skier: You should learn how to ski man. These are considered a big mtn deep pow condition charger however with a very respectable 22m radius they rip up wicked GS turns on the groomers...I'm a ski tester and get thrown skis at me like they were candy at Halloween however I just had to buy a pair of these for my own collection.

Comments about Volkl Kuro Skis 2010:

I bought these skis in early March from EVO and had them mounted up with Marker Jesters. Took them to Whistler and skied them in the 80+ cms of fresh over those 4 days. They were fantastic in the powder, awesome in the crud and great on the groomers on the way back to the lift. Leave them at home if there hasn't been snow in a while, but if there has been some accumulation, bring em out and 'love your life!'

Comments about Volkl Kuro Skis 2010:

Suprise absolutely ill. These will hold an edge amazingly well on very hard surfaces at speed with correct forward stance. Will roll from edge to edge very adeptly and slay conditions that you would think they shouldn't. Don't understand the previous review. Bad tune? Bad day? Anyway these are not perfect and are not meant for glassy ice but hardpack or better you are in for a treat. Float almost too much. Its just a different sensation as you super-g around fast skiers in the pow if you just trust these. They will blow your mind and your racer buds will ask if they should get these and what size. Tell em no :)
