Katana Skis feature a top-end construction with full Sensorwood and two sheets of titanium. Meticulously matched with Volkl
's Extended Low Profile (ELP) rocker, the Katana's 111mm waist gives you float, while the beefy construction allows great handling on harder snow. For good skiers who want a big mountain powder ski that can handle the groomed on occasion, the Volkl
Katana Skis are the weapon of choice.
Extended Low Profile (ELP) Full Rocker gives the skier all the benefits of added maneuverability in soft snow while also delivering smooth, graceful arcs on groomed terrain. By matching the flex and sidecut with the full rocker (long, gradual bend from tip to tail) profile, the skier gains full, uninterrupted edge contact. The more you put the ski on edge, the more effective the edge becomes. The resulting smoothness and predictability is truly uncanny.
Tough Box construction features a Multi-Layer wood core wrapped with a Composite/Fiberglass sheath to create the ultimate resilience and snap for freeskiing models. Surrounding the core in the mid-body of the ski, it adds snap, strength and binding screw retention.
Sensorwood Core is CNC milled using vertically laminated Poplar and Beech wood.
Powered by Titanium
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.
