Volkl Fuego Skis + eMotion 11.0 TC Bindings - Women's 2012

Volkl Fuego Skis + eMotion 11.0 TC Bindings - Women's 2012: Do you bring total finess and discipline to the entire mountain through your skiing? If so, the Volkl Fuego Skis are ready to guide and enhance your technique. Featuring the Bio-Logic system, the Volkl Fuego Skis are for expert skiers who want the finest frontside/all-mountain ski Volkl has ever offered. The Bio-Logic system features a combination of stance, shape and flex that create a revolutionary blend of improved performance and ease of use.
Shape
Full Camber is for skiers who still enjoy the feel of traditional camber. While not as silky-smooth as a rockered ski, full camber provides stability and acceleration for skiers wanting a more classic ride quality.
Bio-Logic Geometry has a sidecut shape that is more generous in the tip, and narrower in the tail than those of unisex skis. A tighter radius in the front of the ski provides easier turn initiation and a longer radius toward the tail allows the skier to finish the turn with less effort, allowing her to transition from one turn to the next with ease. This also reduces the load on the knees during the end of the turn.
Construction
Double Grip construction consists of raising the height of the construction above the edge, creating added support for the edge, and in turn, better edge grip. The added height of Extended Double Grip extends from tip to tail, placing more material where it’s needed - in support of the edges.
Bio-Logic Stance puts the skier in a more balanced stance. Volkl and Marker created a more neutral stance by raising the toe of the binding – resulting in better balance between the muscles in the front and rear of the legs.
Bindings
The Marker eMotion 11.0 TC Bindings incorporate into the Attiva eMotion system. This system features the Triple Pivot Comfort toe, based on the Triple Pivot Elite toe of Marker's Royal Family bindings. Shorter and lighter than the four linkage toe of the past, it offers enhanced power transmission. SpeedRide features either the Twincam heel in the 11.0 TC.
DIN range: 3-11
Included Bindings
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
Core and Flex Pattern
Extended Sensorwood Core Light consists of Poplar and Beech
Bio-Logic Flex works in synergy with the new stance and geometry. Stiffer in the front of the ski for quick turn initiation, and softer in the tail for easy turn exit, the Bio-Logic flex enhances flex distribution and gives the skier the ultimate in comfort and control.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Carving
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Camber
    Camber
Camber is the traditional profile for skis offering skiers lots of edge hold, especially on harder snow. A cambered ski has a smooth arch underfoot and contact points near the tip and tail when unweighted. Camber skis excel at carving on hard snow; you won’t ever see a ski racer on anything other than cambered skis.
  • Core/Laminates: Metal, Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
    Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
