Volkl Estrella (Green) Skis + 3Motion 10.0 Bindings - Women's 2012

Volkl Estrella (Green) Skis + 3Motion 10.0 Bindings - Women's 2012: Progression, progression, progression. The Volkl Estrella Skis are for the advanced skier who wants a game improvement, all-conditions ski that remains a fun ride once you master it. It features Bio-Logic technology's improved stance, geometry and flex, all working together to reduce fatigue and improve performance.
Shape
Full Camber is for skiers who still enjoy the feel of traditional camber. While not as silky-smooth as a rockered ski, full camber provides stability and acceleration for skiers wanting a more classic ride quality.
Bio-Logic Geometry has a sidecut shape that is more generous in the tip, and narrower in the tail than those of unisex skis. A tighter radius in the front of the ski provides easier turn initiation and a longer radius toward the tail allows the skier to finish the turn with less effort, allowing her to transition from one turn to the next with ease. This also reduces the load on the knees during the end of the turn.
Construction
Power Grip™ construction improves power delivery to the edge with a unique 3 Dimensional design. This type of Double Grip Technology allows the ski to be shaped with more material supporting the edge, for better edge grip and smoother turns Motion systems.
Bio-Logic Stance puts the skier in a more balanced stance. Volkl and Marker created a more neutral stance by raising the toe of the binding – resulting in better balance between the muscles in the front and rear of the legs.
Bindings
The Marker 3Motion 10.0 Bindings and segmented interface makes it possible to deliver better performance through more uniform ski flex under the foot.
DIN range: 2.5-10
Included Bindings
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
Core and Flex Pattern
Dual Wood Core Light consists of parallel strips of wood surrounded by PU.
Bio-Logic Flex works in synergy with the new stance and geometry. Stiffer in the front of the ski for quick turn initiation, and softer in the tail for easy turn exit, the Bio-Logic flex enhances flex distribution and gives the skier the ultimate in comfort and control.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Carving
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Camber
    Camber
Camber is the traditional profile for skis offering skiers lots of edge hold, especially on harder snow. A cambered ski has a smooth arch underfoot and contact points near the tip and tail when unweighted. Camber skis excel at carving on hard snow; you won’t ever see a ski racer on anything other than cambered skis.
  • Core/Laminates: Polyurethane (PU), Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
    Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
