Volkl Bridge Skis 2012: Volkl’s best all-mountain twin tip and a Freeskier Magazine “editor’s pick”, the Volkl Bridge Skis have been totally re-designed with a new, wider shape and now feature Volkl’s exclusive Extended Low Profile (ELP) rocker design. Its smooth, gradual bend allows uniform edge contact for an incredibly playful, versatile ride for anything from steep, powdery chutes to the pipe and park.
Shape
Extended Low Profile (ELP) Full Rocker gives the skier all the benefits of added maneuverability in soft snow while also delivering smooth, graceful arcs on groomed terrain. By matching the flex and sidecut with the full rocker (long, gradual bend from tip to tail) profile, the skier gains full, uninterrupted edge contact. The more you put the ski on edge, the more effective the edge becomes. The resulting smoothness and predictability is truly uncanny.
Construction
Powered by Carbon
Tough Box construction features a Multi-Layer wood core wrapped with a Composite/Fiberglass sheath to create the ultimate resilience and snap for freeskiing models. Surrounding the core in the mid-body of the ski, it adds snap, strength and binding screw retention.
Flex
Multi-Layer Wood Core has two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, Ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is Poplar. The more dense wood creates secure screw retention and stability, while the softer poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern can be tailored to each ski model to match the desired performance characteristics.
Sensorwood Core is CNC milled using vertically laminated wood.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

Comments about Volkl Bridge Skis 2012:

This ski is a very good all mountain ski. The twin tips allow for great powder float, and it is very poppy and responsive as well. I have the 2010 version, and I love this ski. Works well with Tyrolea bindings
