Volkl Aurora Skis + iPT Wide Ride 12.0 Bindings - Women's 2012: The Volkl Aurora skis are for expert women skiers who want stellar performance for everyday groomed snow skiing, combined with a wide enough platform for a powder day. The Aurora Skis feature Volkl's signature Bio-Logic technology that combines stance, geometry and flex to create a high performance women's ski that can reduce fatigue and increase performance at the same time.
Full Camber is for skiers who still enjoy the feel of traditional camber. While not as silky-smooth as a rockered ski, full camber provides stability and acceleration for skiers wanting a more classic ride quality.
Bio-Logic Geometry has a sidecut shape that is more generous in the tip, and narrower in the tail than those of unisex skis. A tighter radius in the front of the ski provides easier turn initiation and a longer radius toward the tail allows the skier to finish the turn with less effort, allowing her to transition from one turn to the next with ease. This also reduces the load on the knees during the end of the turn.
Double Grip construction consists of raising the height of the construction above the edge, creating added support for the edge, and in turn, better edge grip. The added height of Extended Double Grip extends from tip to tail, placing more material where it’s needed - in support of the edges.
Bio-Logic Stance puts the skier in a more balanced stance. Volkl and Marker created a more neutral stance by raising the toe of the binding – resulting in better balance between the muscles in the front and rear of the legs.
The Marker iPT Wide Ride 12.0 Bindings - the Wide Ride system is 30% wider than the original iPT (Internal Power Transmission).
The Triple Pivot Elite Toe and Inner Pivot Heel pieces for the Wide Ride system are the same design as those of the Marker Duke and Jester freeride bindings. The components contribute to better performance with a more secure wrap on the boot lug, increased directional elasticity in the heel, and an extremely light construction, allowing the skier to have a wider ski that is as easy to handle and maneuverable as a narrower system.
DIN range: 4-12
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
Extended Sensorwood Core Light consists of Poplar and Beech
Bio-Logic Flex works in synergy with the new stance and geometry. Stiffer in the front of the ski for quick turn initiation, and softer in the tail for easy turn exit, the Bio-Logic flex enhances flex distribution and gives the skier the ultimate in comfort and control.
