Volkl Attiva Estrella Skis + 3Motion 10.0 Bindings - Women's 2011

Volkl Attiva Estrella Skis + 3Motion 10.0 Bindings - Women's 2011: For advanced skiers who want a game improving, all-condition ski that continues to be enough ski as they improve, the Volkl Attiva Estrella Ski provides a tremendous amount of versatility and ease of use.
Construction
All skis with 3Motion features Power Grip™ construction, which improves power delivery to the edge with a unique 3-Dimensional design. As with Extended Double Grip, the segmented Motion interface allows the ski to be shaped with more material supporting the edge, for better edge grip and smoother turns.
Bindings
The 3Motion 11.0 Binding system takes what Volkl engineers learned in creating Motion iPT and applies it to their mid-range skis. A segmented interface makes it possible to deliver better performance through more uniform ski flex under the foot. 3Motion was developed in conjunction with Power Grip construction technology, which, like Extended Double Grip, utilizes more material over the edge to provide better edge grip.
Included Bindings
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
Core and Flex Pattern
Dual wood core, as the name suggests, it consists of parallel strips of wood surrounded by PU. Featured in the Power Grip construction, it is sandwiched between glass layers top and bottom.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Carving
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Camber
    Camber
Camber is the traditional profile for skis offering skiers lots of edge hold, especially on harder snow. A cambered ski has a smooth arch underfoot and contact points near the tip and tail when unweighted. Camber skis excel at carving on hard snow; you won’t ever see a ski racer on anything other than cambered skis.
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
    Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
