Volkl AC30 Skis + Bindings - Used 2009: The Volkl AC30 Ski is the true 50/50 frontside/backside favorite within the Volkl line, featuring Motion iPT and Extended Double Grip. It's the go-to ski for advanced to expert skiers in the all-conditions category.

  • Core:The Volkl AC30 Skis are created with a complex CNC milling
  • Flex and Construction:In the signature Extended Double Grip Construction, dual chambers extend from tip to tail, providing more support for the edges, and enabling the ideal distribution of pressure to the snow.
  • Edges and sidewalls:The top-of-the-line models in the VÖLKL Alpine ski range boast a special wood core tuning system all powered by titanium. Above and below the XTD Sensor Wood Core or XTD Wood Core, there is a layer of titanium reinforcing the ski and adding power and stability. The thin yet extremely strong aluminum alloy extends its unparalleled dampening properties particularly at high speeds.
  • Bindings:The Motion iPT (internal power transmission) combines ease of ski flex with power and sensitivity. Engineers built the binding interface INTO the ski body, then created a system that slides into position on the ski. Inside the ski, the interface creates a rigid connection that results in better performance in any snow conditions. The sides of the interface rest directly on top of the chambers of the Extended Double Grip construction, for direct energy transfer.

Comments about Volkl AC30 Skis + Bindings - Used 2009:

I raced slalom in high school back in the day when 200-205 were the lengths to use. Now i was looking for a more all-terrain ski with GS type turnability and lots of rebound. I am only 170 lbs and opted for the 177 length. I am a little light for these skis, but i find speed makes up for what i lake in weight. I am a super aggressive skier who loves speed. When i go fast, i am able to use the g-force to really flex these skis for amazing GS turns.

After 2 days, i figured out how to ski bumps on these. They dont love being stuck together, which is how i normally ski bumps. Instead i focused on keeping my knees together and the skis slightly apart, and the bumps loved me.

In powder, these skis ddnt float very well. But once again, i used speed and used the amazing bounce of these skis to float between turns.

These skis are no joke. They require a lot of hip angulation, lots of speed and technique to truly shine. If u are a skiier that demands as much from the skis asbu do from your own technique, then u will love these skis. If u want to skid ur turns, then go get some soft run of the mill skis. These require strength speed and technique. If u can provide all three, these skis will love u.
