Volkl AC 50 Skis + Bindings - Used 2009

Volkl AC 50 Skis + Bindings - Used 2009: The AC40 was the best advanced all mountain ski on the market...until the AC50 came along to knock it off. The Volkl AC50's massive 85mm waist is tamed by the new Wide Ride binding technology which makes the ski feel narrower. The adjusted flex pattern allows the 50 to work in the bumps while the double-grip titanium technology provides plenty of grip for the ice.
Shape
The flat shape of the ski allows for precision riding at any speed.
Construction
The 2 layers of titanium on the AC50 allows the ski to be noticeably livelier. The upward extension of the core is milled to form the Double Grip construction. The Volkl AC50 Skis are built for good skiers that like to ski anywhere on the mountain.

Core and Flex Pattern
The New 2010 Volkl Unlimited AC50 Ski is a phenomenal choice for those skiers who have put in countless hours of run time. The Volkl AC 50 Skis are designed with its 85mm waist to not only bust through crud and cruise through powder, but to truly grip on groomers.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
  • Turning Radius: 16.3m @ 170cm
  • Rocker Type: Camber
    Camber
Camber is the traditional profile for skis offering skiers lots of edge hold, especially on harder snow. A cambered ski has a smooth arch underfoot and contact points near the tip and tail when unweighted. Camber skis excel at carving on hard snow; you won’t ever see a ski racer on anything other than cambered skis.
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
    Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
  • Tip Width (mm): 128
  • Waist Width (mm): 85
  • Tail Width (mm): 112
