      2 winters ago I returned to skiing after a 17-year break... researched long and hard about which skis to purchase - keep in mind I've never skied shaped skis before so I had no idea what to look for. Long story short - couldn't be happier... the skis are very light but feel solid on the hill. Great on ice (east coast) as well as sludge. I took some carving lessons last winter and my instructor was impressed by the AC3's. Since I had a solid skiing foundation from before it only took me a few days before I could pretty much keep up with my instructor (level 3) on any given black or double black run. I have a feeling it was partly because of the skis - they don't require much effort at all (still lacking that smoothness of motion and overall grace that these guys have when skiing, but that's me not the ski). Like I said... I don't have anything to compare them to since they're my first shaped skis but I highly recommend them for any recreational skier... I paid [$] for mine which made it even sweater. That's much less than I'd pay for rentals that winter. I don't see any reason to upgrade as long as these last. Cheers.

      A great ski for a veteran skier. It was time to replace my early era shaped skis for a much better performance ski. Having skied for over 4 decades, I've known skis for a long time. These skis turn when you think about turning, but are stable on the speed runs. It's been a blast learning to be a better bump skier with these. They are lightweight, grip superbly, release as soon as you want, and jump into the next turn. They've really helped me to just let the skis do the turning, so I can focus more on enjoying the ride. If you are looking for a ski that lets you advance yourself, and takes the work out of turning and carving, give these a try.
