Comments about Surface One Life Skis 2010:

I got these on a whim because I couldn't afford a pair of similar do-it-all skis and the price was right. The rocker in these skis are rediculous. Everyone in a lift line will get googly eyed looking at them, and it's quite fun to just tell people you broke them and watch them go "oh, gotcha".

Unfortunately my first couple days on these skis was rocking the groomers. They killed it. Skied just as good as any regular camber ski I've ever ridden. Note that these are stiff skis. You won't get that from a powder specific ski, they're noodles compared to these. Luckily I headed through the trees and was blown away. The rocker makes it like cheating. Easy to jump on top and destoy pillows, they turn on a dime, and every landing you feel like a pro because they force you to land properly thanks to the rocker.

I know saying it's a one ski quiver is a cop-out, but it's true. You could have a better powder ski, but you wouldn't have as much fun as you do on these. I've had em out in 18" of fresh and they skied like the old hellbents which are 10cm wider underfoot. They're that fun.

Havent actually ridden them yet but i got them the other day and the first thing i noticed was how they were incredibly stiff while still managing to be the lightest ski i have ever held. The rocker blows my hellbents rocker out of the water... cannot wait to center mount them with some salomon z12ti for the lightest combo around!

Comments about Surface One Life Skis 2010:

awesome skies that i just used this season. i bought them on a whim at [...] in los angeles. i was basically looking for powder skies. i moved up to mammoth a week after the huge storm of the 2010/2011 season and used them there for the first time. they made their way around the groomers but once you got into some moguled grooms it got difficult to control them. i later went up to the back side and skied the untouched powder and instantly knew i bought the right ski for what i want to use it for. they handled amazingly in powder. turning, hitting hips, landing on the fresh powder felt like pillows. the rocker on the skies looks like to much but works great and i had no problem staying on top of the pow.i would highly recomend this ski and if you buy it i wish you the best.
