The Scott Xplor'Air Skis are for the adrenaline seeking all-mountain adventurer. A wood core coupled with air-channel construction minimizes weight and improves performance. Scott also placed a carbon fiber top sheet on this ski to add rigidity while reducing overall weight. Moderate rocker in the tip allows this ski to bust through variable snow conditions and gives the Xplor'Air a more forgiving and ride while camber under foot adds power and pop to your turns.
Rocker Type
Scott Pro Tip Rocker 350 - Pro-Tip rocker combines a progressive shape with increased tip height and radius. Pro-Tip produces a more consistent ski flex and provides more predictable turns. Pro-Tip also increases stability in deep snow and provides a more forgiving ride.
Sidecut
Dual Radius - Traditional skis have a fixed radius that determines the length of every turn. Scott skis combine two radii (dual radius) to create the sidecut or “shape” of the ski. By incorporating the Dual Radius concept, the ski can turn when you want it to turn, resulting in a more versatile ski which is not confined to one type of skiing or terrain.
Laminates
SSCL Carbon - Sandwich Sidewall Construction Laminate Carbon - The combination of a sandwich wood core construction with carbon laminates results in a lightweight performance construction ideally suited for ski touring.
3D Carbon Frame - This innovative carbon laminate ski construction creates an exceptionally lightweight touring ski while dramatically increasing torsional rigidity and dynamic performance on steeps.
Additional Features
Factory Finish - Scott skis come direct from the factory "ready to ski" with Scott factory finish. Every factory finished ski leaves the factory with side edges ground at 89° and base edges ground between 0.5° and 0.8° for exceptional performance. The base is finished with a micro structured CNC stone grind so you can mount your skis and hit the hill, no tuning required.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Carving
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber
    Rocker/Camber
Rocker/Camber skis pair a traditional cambered profile underfoot with an elongated, early rise tip borrowed from fully rockered skis. This profile places the front contact point further back from the tip, while the rear contact point remains close to the tail. The rockered tip allows for better flotation and less edge catch for increased float in deep snow, while the cambered rear stores and transmits energy similarly to a fully cambered ski.
  • Turning Radius: Short
    Short
< 16 m radius is best for carving.
  • Core/Laminates: Carbon, Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
    Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
