Scott Luna Skis - Women's 2013

The Scott Luna Skis are the perfect choice for you hard charging ladies. Versatile and stable, the Luna can bust through all types of snow conditions without batting an eye. This ski has rocker in the tip to increase versatility in variable snow conditions, and two layers of Titanal make the Luna powerful and ready for anything the mountain has to offer. The Luna is the perfect all-conditions tool with great turn initiation in the soft stuff and edge grip on-piste.
Rocker Type
Venturi-Tip Rocker (S) - Combining a hollow shape with a rocker tip (200 mm) results in effectively decreasing the skis' surface pressure in deep snow. The rocker allows the tip to be elevated yielding a highly versatile ski in both deep and variable conditions.
Sidecut
Dual Radius - Two radii create the shape of the ski instead of just one, resulting in a more versatile ski that is not confined to just one style of riding. A larger front radius provides great stability and forgiveness in all snow conditions.
Laminates
Sandwich Sidewall Construction with Double Titanal - The classic sandwich sidewall is paired with a titanal top and bottom sheet, providing exceptional power and rebound. The semi-cap finish protects the top sheet, guaranteeing maximum durability.
Base
Factory Finish - SCOTT skis come direct from the factory "ready to ski" with Scott factory finish. Every factory finished ski leaves the factory with side edges ground at 89° and base edges ground between 0.5° and 0.8° for exceptional performance. The base is finished with a micro structured CNC stone grind so you can mount your skis and hit the hill, no tuning required.
Additional Features
Women's Specific Construction - All Women's skis feature women's specific construction. Scott women's skis are designed to be light and lively while meeting the levels of performance that women skiers demand.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber
    Rocker/Camber
Rocker/Camber skis pair a traditional cambered profile underfoot with an elongated, early rise tip borrowed from fully rockered skis. This profile places the front contact point further back from the tip, while the rear contact point remains close to the tail. The rockered tip allows for better flotation and less edge catch for increased float in deep snow, while the cambered rear stores and transmits energy similarly to a fully cambered ski.
  • Turning Radius: Short
    Short
< 16 m radius is best for carving.
  • Core/Laminates: Metal, Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
    Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
