I've been on a GS style ski for the last ten years. I was a little concerned initially with the wider width and dementions of the Fury than i'd been used to. These ski's just continued to eat up all snow conditions. They impressed me the more a pushed them. I can honestly say I still havent found their limit. In machine made eastern crud cookies the size of softballs the shovels would not deflect. I found the radius nicely suited for GS turns on wide open groomers. I would say I needed a good three days on these boards to get a feel for them. I'm 5'10'' 195lbs consider myself to ski more so with power than finesse. I believe this style suites the Fury's. If you you like hard charging on steep piste, and not afraid to stand hard on the rails this ski will not disappoint you.

Comments about Salomon XW Fury Skis + Z12 Bindings 2009:

Just back from another day of skiing powder.
Bought these skis in November 2009 and skied them in all conditions. I am most impressed as I have been actively skiing for more than 55 years and have gone thru a lot of equipment. These skis with the 85cm underfoot are awsome. Moguls, powder, mouguls, they do it all with ease. Do not find any wobble with speed on groomed.
They are also very light which I like.
I disagree comletely Rusty from Boulder, maybe he should stand over his skis.
    I am 6'3" 200 lb. skiing 170 cm length.
In conclusion, probably the best skis I have owned

Comments about Salomon XW Fury Skis + Z12 Bindings 2009:

Got the Fury at great price at Evogear in Nov'09. Just like they said on SKi/Skiing magazines - they are super fast and stable. I use them more in the East with icy condition and are suprised how well the skis can handel packed snow. Used them on some powder consition (not botteomless like Utah though) at Whistler glaciers, they are super!!! I have to get my wife new skis now since she can not catch up with me anymore... The only thing I want to complain is that the top laminate, which is easy to get scratched/dented. I use them for about 15 days so far and they look old already. But who cares! They are the best skis I've ever had.

Good for icy mornings that turn soft in the afternoon. Floats me well at 230 lbs. Carves easily once you get the hang of it. I have a shorter Streetracer (175) that's better for icy and hard groomed conditions, but the Fury (184) is more versatile and relaxing. Can't vouch for durability after only 6 days, but seems solid.

Order this ski at the end of last season waiting for some fresh spring snow to arive,no such luck.2010 was a bust out year for skiing with many pow days and bluebird crusers at snowmass.I could do no wrong. I fell in love with the ski as I thought I would from my demo days in 2009.It was a long summer wait but worth it.They floated through the deep and gave me a soft and gentle feel under foot as I hit the glades and craved my way down the tree line hooting and howling all the time.Once out and on to the tracked runs it was a fast ride through the crude back to the chair. The moguls seemed to be waiting for the chance to cature me but the didn't have a chance or the rest of the mountain. I been skiing everything the mountain had to offer with ease. Thankyou solomon.

Comments about Salomon XW Fury Skis + Z12 Bindings 2009:

My first day on these skis was a day after a 15 inch Utah storm. The snow was mostly cut-up power and groomers. The skis handled the cut up powder with ease being good floaters and carvers. I hit some very steep powder in the trees which required tight turns as well as good float and these skis handles it easily. I also did some fast GS turns on the soft groomers and these skis held their edges like on rails. The skis are also light and easy to transition quickly. If there is anything not positive to say it's just that I expected them to have more pop to them from turn to turn.
