Salomon Threat Skis 2012: The Salomon Threat Skis are versatile skis for aspiring park riders who also want to ski the whole mountain. Composite Monocoque construction brings this up-and-comer down to earth for those aspiring in the park. The Threat will pop with the best of them, but is much more forgiving on take-offs, landings, and ripping the rest of the mountain.
Shape
Traditional camber for park and all-mountain performance
Construction
Edgy Monocoque offers precise edge grip, no excess material, and efficient energy transfer from the skier to the snow for freeskiing.
Wide Edges are thicker for increased durability and improved shock resistance.
Total Edge Reinforcement has a fiber directly on the edges providing edge stiffness for improved durability and grip.
Flex
Composite core is a combination of fibers that reduces weight, and adds maneuverability and forgiveness.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

Comments about Salomon Threat Skis 2012:

Snapped my old skis about a week away from a trip to big sky( I ski Midwest). Not having a whole bunch of money to spend on expensive new skis I picked these up. Great price point ski. They can do everything, I even took them down some some double black extremes and they held up great. The only bad thing is they feel somewhat dead in the park. You have to work significantly harder to get good pop out of them. I would recommend these to an intermediate skier who skiis more all mountain than park, and needs a price point ski.

Comments about Salomon Threat Skis 2012:

I have used these skis this last season and I love them. I bought them in the 171 size. They worked great on ice and creamy shallow pow. I skied some advanced runs and they handled our East Coast hard pack fine. In the park the y were forgiving enough for a beginning park skier(me). The rocker is sweet and it gives the ski a nice clean smooth ride. LOVE THEM. I received them as a Christmas gift from my parents. They were a bit heavy though. When the tow cable was closed at the park, they were a pain to hike back up with.

Comments about Salomon Threat Skis 2012:

I would give it about 4.5/5. My skill level is in between intermediate and advanced. When i went up on Saturday my friends and i did mostly single black diamonds unless we were traversing to a different run, these skis held up great, no trouble at all. My only con would be that the tips are scratched up already but that is probably my fault. Love the look and love the feel. (first review hope it is helpful)
