Salomon Rockette 115 Skis - Women's 2013

Salomon Rockette 115 Skis - Women's 2013: The Salomon Rockette 115 Skis are new for 2013, bringing you the best in powder skiing. The Rockette 115 comes with a full woodcore for optimal power and dampening, and Edgy Monocoque for precise edge grip, without the excess material. Combine that with its Twin Rocker shape, and you have a super playful ski that will maneuver anywhere.
Shape
Twin Rocker shape has rocker in the tip and tail with a 40% pressure zone when flat that smoothly transitions to an 80% pressure zone when on edge. This is super playful and maneuverable for maximum spin and pivot, easy switch riding, and maximum surf feel.
Early Taper for catch-free surfyness
Construction
Full Woodcore from tip to tail offers optimum stability on snow and powerful rebound, which maximizes ski/snow contact and filters vibrations.
Edgy Monocoque offers precise edge grip, no excess material, and efficient energy transfer from the skier to the snow for freeskiing.
Dimensions
18 m @ 156 cm 123/105/116, 18.3 m @ 164 cm 128/108/121, 20.3 m @ 170 cm 137/115/127
Additional Features
Pulse Pad is a layer of rubber along the edges and in certain zones of the ski for a smoother ride and improved ski/snow contact.
Wide Edges are thicker for increased durability and improved shock resistance.
Total Edge Reinforcement has a fiber directly on the edges providing edge stiffness for improved durability and grip.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

Specs

  • Terrain: Powder
    Powder
These skis are for the deep days. If you like to find powder stashes at your local resort, go on backcountry missions for the freshest of fresh or heli ski trips to BC, powder skis are what you need to stay afloat. Skis in the powder category are wide and most often have some form of rocker or early rise plus a relatively soft flex. Many powder skis today are versatile enough to handle mixed conditions and harder snow.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Turning Radius: 18.3 m @ 164 cm m, Medium
    Medium
17-22 m radius is best for all-mountain and park & pipe.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Full Twin Tip
    Full Twin Tip
Desinged to allow you to ski backwards, full twin tips are found primarily on park & pipe skis and freestyle powder skis. More and more, we are seeing twin tips on all-mountain skis of all abilities, as it makes it a little easier to get around, and for the most part does not inhibit forward skiing.
  • Ski Awards: 2013 Freeskier Editor's Picks
  • Warranty: 1 year (2 with Salmon bindings)
  • Tip Width (mm): 128
  • Waist Width (mm): 108
  • Tail Width (mm): 121
