Salomon Origins Bamboo Skis – Women’s 2012:The Salomon Origins Bamboo Skis are setting a new standard for all-mountain skis. The Salomon Origins Bamboo Skis are reliable and playful performance skis made for exploring the entire mountain. Bamboo and an All TerrainRocker make for an extremely versatile ski in any condition.
Shape
All Terrain Rocker shape in the tip area, with a medium length and low height, enables maximum terrain absorption and easy, progressive turn initiation, without sacrificing stability. An 80% pressure zone when flat precisely transitions to a 95% pressure zone when on edge for performance and precision on all conditions.
Women Stance: mounting position is adapted for women (+8mm) to provide assistance for beginners while giving precision to experts.
Intuitive tail allows easy turn-release for more comfort and control.
Construction
Double Monocoque is a double layer of fibers for maximum response and edge grip.
POWERLINE All-Mountain Active Dampening System is dedicated to wide skis. It consists of 2 arms running along the side of the ski that absorb terrain changes, improving stability in all conditions.
Shock Absorbing System, integrated into the ski, reduces vibrations at speed or on bumpy terrain, allowing for more skiing with less fatigue.
Flex
Full Woodcore from tip to tail offers optimum stability on snow and powerful rebound, which maximizes ski to snow contact and filters vibrations.
Light and strong Bamboo layer provides liveliness edge to edge.
Double Ti Laminate 400 is a double layer of Titanium that improves on-piste performance with more precision, enormous edge grip, and improved responsiveness.

We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

    All-Mountain
    All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Carving
    For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.

    Advanced-Expert
    Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.

    Rocker/Camber skis pair a traditional cambered profile underfoot with an elongated, early rise tip borrowed from fully rockered skis. This profile places the front contact point further back from the tip, while the rear contact point remains close to the tail. The rockered tip allows for better flotation and less edge catch for increased float in deep snow, while the cambered rear stores and transmits energy similarly to a fully cambered ski.
