Salomon Lord Skis 2012: As versatile as versatile gets, the Salomon Lord Skis are twin-tip freeride skis for people looking to explore new terrain and develop their inner freerider. With a solid wood core and All Terrain Rocker, the Lord handles ice, crud, and soft snow without even working up a sweat.
Shape
All Terrain Rocker shape in the tip area, with a medium length and low height, enables maximum terrain absorption and easy, progressive turn initiation, without sacrificing stability. An 80% pressure zone when flat precisely transitions to a 95% pressure zone when on edge for performance and precision on all conditions.
Semi Twin Tip tail increases the snow contact and stability at high speeds.
Construction
Edgy Monocoque offers precise edge grip, no excess material, and efficient energy transfer from the skier to the snow for freeskiing.
PULSE PAD is a layer of rubber along the edges and in certain zones of the ski for a smoother ride and improved ski-snow contact.
Edge Armor incorporates an extremely durable polyethylene fiber cord cross-laced between the edges of the skis to increase the edge strength for less edge depression and wrenching.
Wide Edges are thicker for increased durability and improved shock resistance.
Total Edge Reinforcement has a fiber directly on the edges providing edge stiffness for improved durability and grip.
Flex
Full Woodcore from tip to tail offers optimum stability on snow and powerful rebound, which maximizes ski/snow contact and filters vibrations.
Monocoque is a single structural layer of fiber for optimal comfort, response, and maneuverability.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

Comments about Salomon Lord Skis 2012:

I used these Salomon Lord's at Steamboat in the late season (2012) after demo'ing them in Aspen in February and have to say that they performed fantastically in all types of terrain. The weather was warm mid-mountain with mashed-potato snow and the Lords busted through it with no problem. At Storm Peak, the snow was compact and intermixed with frozen hardpack from the overnight freeze, and the Lords held the edge through some iffy turns in mixed conditions. Even in The Chutes where turning space was minimal, the skis' quickness was immediately felt, and jump turns were easier to do since the skis are so light. The weight of the skis was a huge advantage, and my legs were far less tired than when I ski my Volkyls. The softer flex and dampening were similar to my Dynastars, and the mogul-bashing was quite fun instead of being exhausting and jarring my fillings loose.

Comments about Salomon Lord Skis 2012:

Got these to replace my AC30's as an all mountain ski last season. Sadly, the truth is that there is no "one ski quiver" ski. This ski did not replace my AC30's but they do complement them well enough to be included in my two ski quiver. The Lords float easily through powder and bust through crud as if it wasn't there. They hold their own in bumps, but are not as quick as the AC30's. Edge hold on groomed and ice is surprisingly good for a relatively soft ski, but rebound is almost nonexistent. Steer these into soft snow and you won't be disappointed. And they'll get you across the firm stuff in between just fine.

Comments about Salomon Lord Skis 2012:

Replaced a pair of Volki AC50 that were damaged. I love this ski. I have rocker fat skis for powder but these are very skiable in powder. Are light and easy to turn. This is my 60th year skiing and I have been going places with ease that I have not gone for a while. The only down side I have is when going fast with not turns you have to stay forword on them or they sometimes want to wobble.

Was hoping for more of a powder ski, with the
rocker tip, but is mostly ok in the deeper stuff.
