Rossignol Temptation 88 Skis - Women's 2013

Rossignol Temptation 88 Skis - Women's 2013: Rail on the groomed, float through the fluffy stuff, and snap off quick turns in tight chutes or trees. The Rossignol Temptation 88 Skis do it all, relying on Rossignol’s combination of Auto Turn Rocker, Extended Sidecut and the Cascade Tip to create one of the most versatile skis out there. Auto Turn Rocker gives you traditional camber over 70% of the ski’s length plus low rocker at the tip and tail, combining edgehold and stability at speed with easy turn initiation and speed control in any conditions.
Shape
Cascade Tip - This specific tip construction involves stepping the end-points of the top two layers, one metal and the other fiberglass. This construction delivers better torsional control of the tip, for more effective grip and very high precision in turns.
Rocker Type
Auto Turn Rocker - 70% traditional camber in the center of the ski delivers power and edge hold. 30% rocker at the tip and tail for easy steering, speed control and versatility in all snow types.
Construction
Wood/Basalt core
Sandwich Laminate construction provides ultimate stability, power, and durability. Traditional sidewalls apply direct pressure to the edges for increased precision and edging power.
Sidecut
Extended Sidecut - Extending the sidecut far into the tip means that the ski can be in contact with the snow along its full length when the skier is angulated and at high speeds. At lower speeds, rotation becomes easier.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Carving
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Turning Radius: 15.0 m @ 170 cm, Short
    Short
< 16 m radius is best for carving.
  • Core/Laminates: Bamboo, Wood
  • Tail Type: Partial Twin Tip
    Partial Twin Tip
Partial twin tip skis have a tail that is turned up, but not as much as the tip. This gives you the ability to ski backwards and back out of tight spaces, but these skis are mainly designed to ski forward.
