Rossignol Temptation 82 Skis - Women's 2012: Powerful, yet also predictable, the Rossignol Temptation 82 Skis are built for the expert skier looking for their one-ski-quiver. Combining freeride maneuverability and precision carving power, the Temptation 82 Skis feature a shape that has a raw, organic feel with tons of grip but allows easy maneuverability and speed control, never locking you in. Traditional camber underfoot delivers power, energy and edge grip with a rockered tip and tail that dramatically improve turn initiation and floatation in any condition.
AutoTurn technology is engineered with 70% traditional high camber underfoot while the remaining 30% of the tip and tail features low rocker. The high camber underfoot delivers power, energy and edge grip for on-piste performance. The Subtle rocker tip and tail delivers easy steering and effortless speed control.
Extended sidecut continues beyond the contact point where the tip and talk rocker start. As speeds and edge angles increase more of the sidecut is engages resulting in powerful full length edge grip. At lower speeds and edge angles the sidecut is less engaged for more maneuverability and ease.
Central DualTec combines the best features of sandwich and cap construction to yield smooth flex and strong edging for comfortable control. The cap increases the ski’s durability and facilitates rebound while the traditional sidewalls underfoot produce crisp, direct edging pressure.
Cascade Tip uses varying shapes of metal and fiberglass laminates at staggered lengths to provide a lighter extremity. The unique layered shapes control tip torsion which smoothes out turn initiation and improves full edge contact.
Power ramp is a women’s specific interface engineered to raise the heel to help adapt to women skiers’ lower center of gravity.

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Turning Radius: 11.2m @ 152cm m
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
  • Warranty: 1 Year
  • Tip Width (mm): 132
  • Waist Width (mm): 82
  • Tail Width (mm): 120
