Rossignol Super 7 Freeride Skis 2012

Rossignol Super 7 Freeride Skis 2012: The new Rossignol Super 7 Freeride Skis are the S7 on steroids. Made for professional big-mountain skiers and hard charging powder junkies, the Super 7 still maintains the maneuverability that the S7 is famous for. Made with two layers of titanium, the Super 7 utilizes game-changing Powder Turn rocker which combines low camber underfoot with high tip and tail rocker. Powder Turn rocker provides amazing floatation, tracking and an efficient angle of attack that gives skiers effortless steering and instant speed control. Get the Super 7 if you want a bigger, damper, more badass big-mountian powder ski.
Shape
Rossignol's Powder Turn is engineered with 50% low camber underfoot while the remaining 50% of the tip and tail feature high rocker. The camber underfoot delivers power, energy, and edge grip for groomed snow. The high rockered tip produces more floatation and effortless powder skiing. The high rockered tail is pin shaped to allow the skier to have an efficient angle of attack providing easy steering and instant speed control.
Rossignol's Centered Sidecut technology features a unique, tappering tip and tail with short sidecut directly underfoot. The deep radius gives edge grip and power underfoot while the short length of the sidecut allows easy steering and playfulness.
Construction
Rossignol builds high performance skis with wood cores, vertical sidewalls, fiberglass, metal and high-tech laminates. Traditional sidewalls create direct edging pressure while the core and laminates provide flex and stability.
Sandwich lay-up is the purest ski construction allowing the layers to have optimum sheering effect which delivers the best feel, balance and power.
Flex
Wood core provides ultimate response, feel, power and durability. Core is made from fume treated Ash and Poplar and is hand milled to the shape of the skis’ profile. Wood used in Rossignol skis is harvested by the factory from sustainable wood, grown in renewable tree farms. The Super 7 is reinforced with two layers of titanium to create a stiff hard charging monster.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

Specs

  • Terrain: Powder
    Powder
These skis are for the deep days. If you like to find powder stashes at your local resort, go on backcountry missions for the freshest of fresh or heli ski trips to BC, powder skis are what you need to stay afloat. Skis in the powder category are wide and most often have some form of rocker or early rise plus a relatively soft flex. Many powder skis today are versatile enough to handle mixed conditions and harder snow.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Core/Laminates: Metal, Wood
  • Tail Type: Full Twin Tip
    Full Twin Tip
Desinged to allow you to ski backwards, full twin tips are found primarily on park & pipe skis and freestyle powder skis. More and more, we are seeing twin tips on all-mountain skis of all abilities, as it makes it a little easier to get around, and for the most part does not inhibit forward skiing.
