The Rossignol Scratch BC WRS is a Pro backcountry freestyle ski for hitting backcountry kickers and skiing big powder. The 30-degree sloping sidewall, big glide surface, low swing weight, less weight and faster edging make this your go to ski for a great happy medium between freestyle and freeride. New is Rossignol’s Weight Reduction System which helps balance flex and reduce weight while remaining strong. Hey, Sage likes this ski, that says it all.

  • Rebound Tips:Elastomers in front and rear tips allow reaction for take-offs and tricks, and absorption for happy landings
  • Rocking Chair Effect:Improves and simplifies balancing- high grip on hardpack, high float on powder
  • THC2:A hybrid core made from 3 materials: Poplar- for pep and lightness, Fume- for response and snow “feel,” Microcell- for shock absorption
  • Weight Reduction System:Intelligent distribution of the fibers helps balance flex and reduce weight while remaining strong. Giving you more snaps in snow parks, happier landings and less weight in tricks

These are great powder skis. Have skiied on them for a full season. Excellent for the ol' Pipe Rips McGee. Wax on wax off baby!

Comments about Rossignol Scratch BC WRS Skis 2007:

Skied these all week in March at Solitude Mt. in Utah. The week saw all conditions - knee deep powder, wind crusted powder, hard pack, ice and rain.... they can handle it all.

I was surprised how well the skies link medium to big sized arcs down the slopes. I wasn't surprised with how amazing they float in the powder and stand up to thrashing them down the backside into Cottonwood Canyon.

I couldn't recommend a better ski for west coast conditions. You won't be disappointed with these sticks.

Comments about Rossignol Scratch BC WRS Skis 2007:

These are sweet skis. Seriously, if you can, get a pair of these. They obviously are the best in powder, but they are excellent on the whole mountain. They're super light, but they feel very stable at high speed. In icy conditions you can't push them as hard as some skis but you can still push them pretty darn hard. They turn as quick as you start to think it. They're amazing.

Comments about Rossignol Scratch BC WRS Skis 2007:

I'm 6'3" and around 155 lbs. I have the 178 BC mounted at the "standard" line. I love these skis because they can do everything equally well. They are responsive and turny on groomers, can actually rail and lay a trench on ice, and float in powder. I couldn't ask for a better ski when it comes to trees, steeps, and hairball, no-fall zone skiing. Very light, maneuverable and confidence-inspiring. They feel just as good arcing long-radius turns in thigh-deep pow or making laps through the park. I've had some big crashes and hit countless rocks on these skis, and they stood up to all that abuse like a champ. My only complaint is that they get rattled and bounced in crud and chunky snow; they just don't have the weight to stand up to that sort of thing. This lack of dampness does not translate to a lack of stability. They feel totally fine going fast and taking big drops. I imagine that the 185 would feel less skittish than the 178, as well as being a better big-mountain/powder oriented ride. I got the shorter length to maximize maneuverability, but after skiing on that I think the extremely light weight would make up for a bit of extra length. Still, the 178 is plenty stable.
            Definitely a good choice.
