Rossignol S7 Skis - Women's 2012: The women’s Rossignol S7 Skis employ the same game-changing technology as the award-winning men's version for the lady pounderhound. Hard charging experts and once struggling intermediate skiers agree the S7 is amazing in its ability to make powder skiing easier and more fun. The S7's Powder Turn Rocker combines low camber underfoot with high tip and tail rocker. Powder Turn rocker provides amazing floatation, tracking and an efficient angle of attack that gives skiers effortless steering and instant speed control. The S7 delivers more maneuverability, easier steering and more forgiveness than any other powder ski on the market. Rossignol has created the perfect powder tool for ladies who have a fetish for skiing the deep and don't mind leaving their boyfriends behind.
Shape
Powder Turn Rocker has low camber underfoot while tip and tail feature high rocker. Camber underfoot delivers power, energy, and edge grip for groomed snow. High rocker tip produces more floatation and effortless powder skiing, high rocker tail is pin-shaped for easy steering and instant speed control.
Centered Sidecut features a unique tapering tip and tail with short sidecut directly underfoot. Deep radius gives edge grip and power underfoot while short length of sidecut allows easy steering and playfulness.
Construction
Traditional sandwich construction with vertical sidewalls creates direct edging pressure.
Spoon Tip technology is a spoon-shaped tip for maximum floatation; tip profile is tapered for effortless tracking in deep snow.
Flex
Poplar wood core creates a light and lively ski with excellent ski-to-snow feel and superb damping characteristics. Resilient carbon materials are woven into the core to provide effective stability and reduce dampness without added weight.
Patented Weight Reduction System is a fiberglass design concentrated underfoot with less density in tip and tail to maximize the ski’s durability and minimizes overall weight by 400 grams.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

Comments about Rossignol S7 Skis - Women's 2012:

I will use this ski every day as long as the snow is soft. It is a fantastic ski in the powder! Can turn quickly and comfortably. Great on groomed but best in soft snow. Love this ski! Last year I bought three pairs of skis. Got rid of the other two. They didn't even compare.

    Comments about Rossignol S7 Skis - Women's 2012:

These skis are SO MUCH FUN. They've done well on anything and everything I've thrown at them. I couldn't believe how well they carved for a fat ski (but I guess with all that side cut I'm not totally surprised!), they were playful and responsive in the bumps, held edge and maneuvered really well in the steeps, and of course, float like a dream in the soft stuff. If you are looking for a fat ski that can do everything then this is your ski. Also decently light if you wanted to put an AT binding on them.
I can't really speak to durability because I've only had them for a little while, but so far I've hit plenty of rocks during the early season and they've held up really well.
As far as length...I'm 5'2"/115lbs and I've been skiing the 168's and loving them. With all the rocker they ski much shorter than that but still have all the stability at speed that I would expect from a longer ski. If there are ladies wanting an even longer length, go with the men's (comes in a 188)--I asked our local Rossi rep and these are the same ski as the men's (same dimensions, core, etc) just with a different topsheet.
Bottom line, this is a great great ski and I have fun on them no matter what the conditions!
