As a New England skier I'm extremely interested in skis that can handle a very wide range of conditions. I own specialized skis for ice and powder, but was looking for a good ski for days like today - where there are icy spots on the runs, the packed surface is churned up with a combination of cord and ice balls, and the fan guns are blazing away and laying down random powder stashes...and you can get all of that within 50 feet down the run. This ski handles that level of variability SUPERBLY. It's agile and flexible without turning into a noodle at speed. It will lay in an edge and carve with a reasonable amount of pressure, but it floats right over the piles of dust. It's heavy enough that it doesn't start tossing you around in the crud. Super ski - I think it's going to be the Go-To ski in my quiver unless I'm riding ice or a fresh powder dump. On ice, I want my Volkls. In fresh pow, it's the Rossi S7 all the way...

A good all mountain ski that offers good versatility in a number of conditions, but never excelled in any of them. It skied the groomers fast, got through the crud okay, and it was slow goings in the deeper snow. It has a rockered tip, but I felt just a little more rocker to help with the softer wet snow. I thought it was pretty light, but got a loose when really opening the ski up on the groomers. Decent ski, but really lacked the wow factor I was hoping for.

Comments about Rossignol S3 Skis 2013:

I demo-ed this ski for a couple of runs and had a ton of fun. This ski loves to edge and is stable at high speeds. It really likes to turn and I found that it's shape naturally initiates turns, which makes it feel really playful and easy to use. After going about Mach 10 down the run, my legs weren't even burning. While it may not be the ski of choice for a powder day it's a fast and versatile ski ideal for conditions on the groomed trails under the lift.

Comments about Rossignol S3 Skis 2013:

I bought these last season as my go to ski. I ski 98% park, and these are a different breed. The huge shovel and ample rocker in the tips make these perfect for butters. The tail rocker reduces the risk of catching an edge when you don't quite get the spin all the way around. I skied the 186 and after a few days I was used to it and could whip them around. The turning radius was perfect for myself, I could rip down groomers and carve some nice corks.

I mounted mine at center, which is 7cm forward of recommended. They are centered on the sidecut at recommended, so where I had them mounted there was alot of tail on snow and almost no tip. I would only recommend this to park skiers and strong skiers, as it is really different. On groomers the tips would fold when flying down due to the softness of the rocker and lack of ski contact with the snow. Again, this is only a problem if you mount at center.

This ski is very similar in dimensions and profile to the Al Dente. I am not an Armada fan so I would recommend these over the Al Dente. The only over gripe I have with the ski (and all Rossis) is with the paper thin edges. If you ski any rails, your edges will disappear.

Comments about Rossignol S3 Skis 2013:

This is my everyday ski. Super light, playful and great in just about all conditions. It may not be my best carver on hard snow ever, but I live in Steamboat and work on the mountain. I also own the S7's which are my deep powder ski. Use it in crud, powder, groomers, bumps and trees. You can cruise at high speeds or think turn and it is there.

Just get home from week trip in Utah. Great ski for all mountain all snow condition.
You can find better carving, better powder, more aggressive, more precise ski,
but try to take 3 pair skis to the plane. If you are looking for one universal,
all mountain pair of skis that feel at home in and out of boundaries, this is it.

These are by far the best skis I have ever been on and I have been skiing for 35 years. I ski the east and these ski do everything from cruising, ice to powder. Obviously this ski is meant for powder and it loves it. I do a lot of off piste skiing and these ski keep me upright and roll over the unmarked hazards like nothing I have skied before. That is why I brought a second pair!

I used the 2012's while in Jackson Hole and loved them. The 13's (according to a rep) are the same skis but with a new top sheet so I had to pick these up when I saw them on evo.

I'll update the review when I use them this season but I'm sure they will be awesome.
