Comments about Rossignol S3 Freeride Skis 2011:

Previous reviewer hit the nail on the head - best do everything ski yet. So as not to repeat think of it this way:

    1. If you have the opportunity to pick and choose your ski days during the season and only go out on the best pow days buy the S7 instead. (anyone in this category knew this already!)

    2. If, on the the other hand, your ski life is based more on the conditions you'll encounter when you get out, and if you like to ski EVERYTHING, get the S3.

    3. Come to think of it, if #1 applies to you, first consider yourself lucky, then consider buying a pair of S3s to go with your S7s so you can enjoy yourself on non bottomless days as much as you do on bottomless. (the S3 excels in bottomless too, just not like the S7, however, the S3 is far better in everything else IMO)

I've skied this ski 35 times this year in almost every condition and it's the best front-side, back-side ski I've ever skied. Truly a one-quiver ski.

Comments about Rossignol S3 Freeride Skis 2011:

I just bought the S3 and it blows my other "all mountain" skis away. This ski is great in the crud as well as deep powder. The new tail design will take a bit getting used to, but in the end you'll become a better skier.

Comments about Rossignol S3 Freeride Skis 2011:

I have demoed this ski for a week now. I'm a VT guy so I've skied every terrain with these. They do hold well when it's slick and I still don't notice that they are 98 in the waist. I caught a TON of snow late in the week and these babies' floated all day. Got out of bounds for a few hikes and they were VERY nimble through the trees. Moguls were effortless too. Rossi's "Amptech" truly does work, it's not just hype. Bought these up immediately, I don't want to ski on any thing else, PERIOD. The one ski that I can bring to the mountain every day.
