Rossignol Phantom SC 108 Skis 2009: The Rossignol Phantom SC 108 Skis are designed for extreme mountain adventures in powder and on steep terrain and are the physical manifestation of go big or go home. With a generous waist and large turning radius, these are the perfect skis for ripping through the steepest and gnarliest terrain no matter what the conditions. Designed to be mainly off-piste, the Rossignol Phantom SC 108 was born with a big-mountain heart and an all-mountain body.

  • Core and Flex Pattern:Hardwood sandwiched between 2 sheets of Titanium make the Rossignol Phantom SC 108 Skis bullet proof for bouncing down all kinds of chunder and stomping big cliffs. These skis are stiff; take control of them or they will take control of you.
  • Construction:Vertical Sidewall construction // Titanium Laminate sandwich
  • Shape:Shark Nose technology incorporates an aluminum insert into the tip of the ski to increase torsional rigidity for more control at high speeds, even on inconsistent snow. // Traditional camber for power and edge control // 10° turned up tail
  • Dimensions:31.6m @ 185cm, 35.5m @ 195cm, 140/108/120 (all sizes)
  • Binding Compatibility:We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15mm wider.

Pros

  • Good Grip

Cons

  • Brutally stiff
  • Versatile than squad

Best Uses

  • Heli
  • Super high speed big mtn

Comments about Rossignol Phantom SC 108 Skis 2009:

This ski is burly. Super stiff. not as versatile as the squad. I really like the xxl if you want a fat stiff ski with camber and sidcut. If you have powder to straightline all day this could be the ski for you. I think your legs would be a lot less tired on the s6.

Comments about Rossignol Phantom SC 108 Skis 2009:

When I brought these skis to my local ski shop to get bindings mounted the manager showed them off to all the techs saying "this is what a real man's skis look like".
Just skied them at sugar bowl on a huge (30"+) powder day. Most fun I've had on skis in a long time.

  • Great Flotation

Cons

  • Unforgiving

Best Uses

Comments about Rossignol Phantom SC 108 Skis 2009:

Recently bought these, just took them out today. These skis are most definitely an expert ski. Mounted them with Fritschi Freeride bindings. These skis are a challenge to handle, but their ride is immaculate. On edge above 40mph, they plow back and forth through pack, crud and powder without a hiccup. If you lean back on the tails once, they'll buck you.
If you're looking for an easy-to-ride powder ski, get something else. If you want a ski that cuts uber-hard, get these.

Comments about Rossignol Phantom SC 108 Skis 2009:

Great ski. I set it up tele with some Hammerheads and it is a wonderful ski. Predictable, stable, turns quick, and holds and edge well. The only downside is that the tips will dive in powder unless you are way backseat, but it is possible to survive if you have a good balance skillset. All in all, a great buy and I may buy another pair to set up alpine.

Comments about Rossignol Phantom SC 108 Skis 2009:

This is a good set of skis for powder. At least they have an edge and are not as squirrly on the hard packed. I own a pair of Pontoons that I very much dislike.

Big phat boards for powder snow and crud.
I got the 185s, with rossi bindings

Heavy and a good workout skiing all day on these planks. Not agile in the air but landing them is easy.

Ski backwards smoothly even though it has a small tail.

Work ok on the groomers (you have to really get on edge due to the width of the ski - more different than technically difficult) and can handle the bumps (I like skiing bumps yo!).

Part of my quiver, and they work great for the days I need big boards.
