Rossignol Experience 83 Skis + Axium 120 Bindings 2012

Rossignol Experience 83 Skis + Axium 120 Bindings 2012: The new Rossignol Experience 83 Skis + Axium 120 Bindings offer all around performance, making for a package that is equally as comfortable railing groomers as it is charging through crud. A combination of AutoTurn rocker, extended sidecut and central dualtech produce a ski that is stable at speeds, but maneuverable in tight situations. Toss the Axiom 120 bindings on top and you've got yourself a take-no-prisoners quiver of one.
Shape
AutoTurn Rocker has a high camber underfoot with a low rocker in the tip and tail. Camber underfoot delivers power, energy, and edge grip for groomed run performance, and subtle rocker in the tip and tail delivers easy steering and effortless speed control for versatility in any terrain or snow type.
Extended Sidecut continues beyond contact point where tip and tail rocker start. As speeds and edge angles increase, more sidecut is engage for powerful full-length edge grip. At lower speeds the edge angles sidecut is less engages for more maneuverability and ease.
Construction
Central Dualtech combines the best features of sandwich and cap construction. The cap increases the ski’s durability and facilitates rebound while the traditional sidewalls and underfoot produce crisp, direct edging pressure.
Cascade Tip is made up of varying shapes of metal and fiberglass laminates at staggered lengths that make the tip lighter to improve the swing weight and provide quick, adaptable turn initiation. Unique layered shapes control tip torsion, smoothing turn initiation and improving full edge contact.
Control Beam combined with Twin VAS absorbs vibrations and facilitates rebound by directing pressure to the extremities.
Bindings
Rossignol TPX/Axium 120 Bindings are made of lightweight composite materials to aid in easier turn transitions, making skiing more fun and carrying skis a breeze. Easy step-in design with a long lever arm makes entering and editing the binding effortless.
New, wider binding platform designed for wide skis (80mm+) increases leverage, enhancing power and precision.
Tool-free binding enables easy adjustment by a certified technician.
Included Bindings
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
Core and Flex Pattern
A wood core with reinforcing basalt fibers provides ultimate response, feel, power, and durability. Fiberglass laminates provide power, flex and stability.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Carving
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Partial Twin Tip
    Partial Twin Tip
Partial twin tip skis have a tail that is turned up, but not as much as the tip. This gives you the ability to ski backwards and back out of tight spaces, but these skis are mainly designed to ski forward.
