Rossignol Bandit B78 Skis + Axium 120 Bindings 2008- The Rossignol Bandit B78 Skis are created specifically for experts who want total versatility. Modeled after the 2007 Rossignol Bandit B2, the B78 excels in powder, crud, and has amazing grip on the hard pack. New for 2008, these skis feature the TPI Free system. This Freeride-specific tool-free integrated ski/binding system allows individual toe and heel control beams to combine in the center with VAS (Visco material that absorbs vibrations). The Axium 120 Bindings feature Performance Geometry, a design that allows the binding to become a performance-enhancing tool. The forward pressure has been increased by 30%, improving rebound and responsiveness. The Elastic Travel is the longest on the market and creates a dramatic improvement in the transfer of power to the snow. Killer advancements in the 2008 Bandit B78 Skis + Axium 120 Bindings go to show that optimal performance and the latest technology are to be expected from the Pure Mountain Company, Rossignol.

  • 50% Off-Piste, 50% Piste, Recommended size by weight:120-160 lbs (158cm) 140-180 lbs (166cm), 160-200 lbs (174cm), 180 lbs+ (182cm)
  • Shark Nose Technology:An aluminum insert integrated into the tip of the ski increases torsional rigidity for more control at high speeds. This allows the ski to push through inconsistent snow without losing grip. Free Absorption Technology (FAT) - Made from integrating Visco and aluminum components into the construction of the ski. The aluminum plate creates a solid link with the bindings, and adds precision and increased control to the ski. The Visco material provides shock-reduction for a smooth, damp feel.
  • TPI Free:New Freeride-specific tool-free integrated ski/binding system. Individual toe and heel control beams combine in the center with VAS (Visco material which absorbs vibrations). The two individual control beams allow the ski to maintain a supple freeride feel. The TPI bindings simply slide onto the two control beams for tool-free adjustment. - Performance Geometry- The lateral arms of the heel piece are angled down to apply greater pressure to the edge of the ski creating more power directly from the skier to the ski with less energy loss. The binding becomes a performance-enhancing tool. Forward Pressure- The binding’s forward pressure has been increased 30% dramatically enh
  • Reinforced Toe Piece:The Dual Action III toe piece has a reinforced housing in the high stress areas, which improves the overall structural integrity of the binding. The reinforcement allows Rossignol to strengthen the torsion bar interface, facilitating greater system torsional rigidity, while maintaining a multi-directional release toe piece.

At 62, I agreed to accompany 15 yo granddaughter as she took up snowboard racing. Signed up as assistant coach to local HS team. Hadn't skied in almost 20 years. First new skis since 1964 (215cm Head Vector). Did some quick research and found the Rossi Bandits at EVO. Got the 174cm pair and LOVE them! After 20 years off, I have never skied better, or had so much fun! Numerous times on the slopes, got "Hey Dude...Bandits, way to go!

Was skeptical if this ski would be stable at speed, it is surprising stable. However is softer than I exoected, and has a tendency to follow the mogul and will not span the trough at all; having the tendency to kick me forward. Have not skiied in powder yet, I expect it will be adequate, but the softness of the ski may not perform. plows through carved powder/ packed powder well. Recommendation limited to advanced intermediate skiers and below, experts will be dissapointed.

Comments about Rossignol Bandit B78 Skis + Rossignol Axium 120 Bindings 2008:

This ski is great, it carves well wether you are skiing fast or slow on steeps or flat groomers, which is often a compromise with many skies... either the skis are really stiff to ensure the ability to blow through crud and to ensure stability at high speeds, but often unresponsive to slower speeds or they are soft and easy to flex but get sloppy in cruddy snow or at high speeds. It is easy to manipulate the radius of the turns and is well balanced in the air if you care to take them into the park. there is enough of a directional twin tip to ski/jump switch (backward) and it is wide enough under foot to allow you to float in powder. I am a former state champ ski racer so I have skied many skis and expect a lot from my skis. these are by far my favorite skies that I have ever skied on. A great investment if you do not want to purchase multiple pairs of skies. Enjoy!

Comments about Rossignol Bandit B78 Skis + Rossignol Axium 120 Bindings 2008:

These skis look much better in person than they do in the images. I just started skiing this season. I spent most of the season on a 118 cm carving ski. I bought this ski as an upgrade as I wanted to learn a full-length ski and wanted the additional stability that the larger ski affords. I bought the 166 cm ski. I managed to get one day on these at Peak n Peek - the day before the end of season '09. Conditions were loose granular, melting at 65 degrees and sunny. Once I acclimatized from my short carving skis, I found these to be very easy to control, stable at speed, and smooth through the rough stuff. I managed to stay upright which, given the fact that I had to do a few gigantic stops due to the snow ending in the middle of a tight tree-lined trail, I consider more a reflection of the quality of the ski than my skills. Great skis make a mediocre skier feel that much more confident on the hill.

Solid ski. Have had them up a few times this season and haven't found anything they can't handle. This is truely a one ski quiver. On Piste this ski performs all day long with little to no wobble at high speeds and great hold on ice. Off Piste, this ski obviously isn't as good as a dedicated powder ski, however it still performs. I'm amazed at how tight a turn radius these have when I really lay into them.

used this ski up in sun valley for the past week, and loved it. not much snow up here, so didnt have a great chance to see how well it floats, but saw plenty of crud, bumps and groomers and the b78 did well. highly recommend this ski

Comments about Rossignol Bandit B78 Skis + Rossignol Axium 120 Bindings 2008:

I am an intermediate skier, this winter was my second season and as I am planning on skiing more and more over the coming seasons, I decided I wanted to have my own gear. After trolling the Evo site for a few days, I came across these skis which looked they fit what I was looking for. I ski a wide range of conditions and runs, mostly blues and some blacks. The length is great for me (6'-1" 250lb) and the ride is smooth on icy groomers or light powder. I haven't been able to test these on deep powder yet, but they are not that wide so they won't be as good as a dedicated powder ski, but I'd rather have an all-mountain ski over a dedicated powder ski. This ski has been great for me as a beginner moving quickly to an intermediate/advanced skier. I knew I would be skiing more frequently and improving and wanted a ski that would not be "too beginner" oriented and have to buy new gear as I improved. [...]

                  Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was very quick, tracking provided by Evo. Bought these with an order coupon and order via telephone, representative I spoke with was very knowledgeable and helpful.

many skis make the claim, but this is a true all mountain ski. it handles powder well, turns easily in the bumps, holds a good edge on packed snow and even does remarkably well on icy snow... not the best ski for heavy crud or mach 5 GS runs, but because of it's lightness, you wouldn't expect it to be. I've been skiing for 40 years and ski anything on the mountain, this ski can handle it all... probably the best ski I've ever owned... I'm 6' and 230lbs and ski the 182 length
