Rossignol Avenger 76 Basalt Skis + TPI²/Axium 120 Bindings 2012: The new Rossignol Avenger 76 Basalt Skis are an aggressive all-mountain/on-trail ski. Power Turn 100% traditional camber profile provides maximized power, energy and performance while carving strong turns. The classic sandwich construction with vertical sidewalls has a new layer of Basalt with Aramide stringers to remove vibration, improve snow contact and give a solid damp feel without the added weight of full metal laminates. With an all-mountain tip and wider waist, the 76 Basalt rails on hardpack while still displaying the all-mountain versatility to blast through any snow condition. The Avenger 76 Basalt is a wide-waisted carver with rock solid stability and edging power for hard charging aspiring experts.
Power Turn Camber has a classic high camber underfoot that delivers power and edge grip for groomed run performance while storing energy and providing explosive snap and boost.
Oversize Sidecut takes the benefits of the aggressive sidecuts of carving skis and combines it with modern waist widths to produce accurate edge feel and unprecedented stability.
Sandwich Laminate Construction with vertical sidewalls creates direct edging pressure while the core and fiberglass laminates provide power, flex, and stability.
Independent Pressuring System H Concave concept optimizes transmission of power applied by the boot to the individual right or left edge to boosts power and grip with higher sidewalls to apply even greater pressure to the edge.
An all-mountain tip extends the ski’s sidecut beyond snow contact point, giving float in soft snow and increased sidecut on edge that creates strong turn initiation.
The Rossignol TPX/lAxial² 120 Bindings have strong power transmission due to angled lateral arms. High forward pressure improves ski rebound and responsiveness and a wide mounting zone provides better contact with wide skis. 25mm of elastic travel, the longest travel of any binding on the market, reduces unwanted pre-releasing.
Included Bindings
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
Core and Flex Pattern
A wood core made from laminations of Ash and Poplar makes the Avenger 76’s lively, responsive, and durable.
Integrated Complex Technology replaces traditional fiberglass layers with new aerospace fiber layers woven into Aramid Basalt laminates that dramatically enhance ski performance, removing vibrations and improving snow contact.

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Camber
Camber is the traditional profile for skis offering skiers lots of edge hold, especially on harder snow. A cambered ski has a smooth arch underfoot and contact points near the tip and tail when unweighted. Camber skis excel at carving on hard snow; you won’t ever see a ski racer on anything other than cambered skis.
  • Core/Laminates: Basalt, Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
