Because backcountry isn't always blower pow, you need a ski that has seen it all and remains composed. The Moment Underworld Skis come from, well... you guessed it, the underworld. Things get weird down there, and the Moment Underworld can keep its cool in everything but the deepest and softest of the white white. 106 mm underfoot meets Dirty Moustache Rocker meets lightweight core all sum up to make the Underworld lightweight and insanely versatile; gripping boilerplate ice, slaying corn, skin tracks, that's all fine. We're glad Moment took a trip to the underworld to unlock the secrets for the ultimate touring ski!
Dirty Moustache Rocker – Rocker at the tip and tail, low center camber, and two sections of micro-camber embedded in front of and behind the binding. Rocker and low camber let the ski surf and slash in powder, while the micro-camber sections create focused edge pressure for carving hardpack.
7 / 10 – Medium-stiff flex for a wide range of snow conditions.
Paulownia / Pine – Paulownia is exceptionally light in weight, with similar properties to aspen in terms of flex and rebound. Moment uses Paulownia as the core foundation for touring models, and add pine stringers for strength and a smooth ride.
Lowfat Layup – Uses 33% more carbon and lighter fiberglass to shave weight from the ski while still preserving snap and durability.
VDS (Vibration Dampening Strip)
Fiberglass Matrix – In addition to carbon fiber, Moment uses three types of fiberglass laminates to fine-tune each ski's flex pattern. Triaxial glass adds twisting strength and longitudinal stiffness. Biaxial weaves add torsional stiffness. Unidirectional glass helps absorb vibration and stiffen the ski from tip to tail.
Carbon Fiber Stringers – Moment uses carbon fiber in all of its skis, either in the form of woven uni-directional stringers or carbon tow threads added to the laminate matrix. Lighter than fiberglass, metal, or basalt, carbon helps tune and strengthen the ski while adding longevity to the flex profile.
Reinforced Binding Mount Layer
Nylon Topsheet
Extruded UHMW (Polyethylene) – Extremely light, durable, and resistant to separation.
1.2 mm Durasurf 4001 Sintered Base – This U.S. made base material takes a beating while staying fast. It is harder and has better wax-absorption properties than extruded bases, making it the industry standard for performance and longevity.
2.2 mm Rockwell 48 Steel Edges – Heat-treated both at the source and in-house at Moment, these edges are extremely hard and ductile, ensuring you get the most life out of your skis.

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
