Moment PB And J Skis 2012: If you have pb & j stuffed into every pocket so you don’t have to spend money on expensive resort food then the Moment PB And J Skis are for you. With Mustache Rocker, a symmetrical flex, and a centered mount – the freestyle influenced rider looking to shred every orifice of the mountain with only one ski. As always, handmade in Reno, NV,the PB and J Skis dominate it all.
Shape
The Tip Rocker profile gives the ski strength and the edging power of a cambered ski with a strong tail, while the rockered tip speeds turn initiation, blasts through the crud, and planes quickly in the powder.
Construction
UHMW (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) sidewalls are extremely light, durable, and resistant to separation.
4001 DuraSurf sintered bases can take a beating while staying fast. They are harder and have better wax absorption than extruded bases. Moment uses sublimated graphics to eliminate the cracking and peeling common on die-cut bases.
VDS dampening system is placed over the edges and in several other key locations to mellow any harsh vibrations.
Triaxial fiberglass, woven in a 0°/45°/-45° fashion, provides maximum strength and resistance against twisting
Flex
Moment uses an Aspen/Pine wood core that when used together provide a strong and lively flex. Aspen keeps the ski light and poppy while pine adds strength and rigidity.
Dimensions
20.5m @ 170cm, 24m @180cm, 26.5m @186cm 129-101-121 (all sizes)
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

Comments about Moment PB And J Skis 2012:

I demoed the PBJ last spring and after one run I had the biggest grin from ear to ear - that's how you know it's good. The first thing that struck me was how nimble, lively, and stable this ski was on-piste (especially given it's dimensions). Next I ventured off piste to test it in some untracked and chopped-up snow... Same as before: nimble, lively, and stable. I was very surprised with how solid and predictable it felt even when mixing up turn shape from slalom to super-G. At that point I knew I had to have a pair; these skis straight up made me ski better. Admittedly this is not a deep pow ski, but for all other conditions I'll be playing on the PBJs. Did I mention I like to ride park too? So does the PBJ: spins effortlessly on jumps, boosts out of the pipe. Not sure about the durability yet but I'm guessing that I'll log a solid 80+ days on these this season; that should give me a pretty good idea. Hmmm, thinking about putting some AT bindings on 'em too for some late spring/summer corn; I'll have to let you know how that goes. Dang these skis are fun!

    Great All-Mountain Ski

    By Craig

Comments about Moment PB And J Skis 2012:

I normally ski a bit bigger ski (2011 Night Trains) so through narrow chutes & and in the crud it's not as hard charging as I am used to, but this ski can still hold its own. Very playful on groomers & would be a good ski in the park if you wanted a wider park ski.

    Pleasantly Surprised

    By Connor

    from Stevens Pass

Comments about Moment PB And J Skis 2012:

First impression: Didn't think ski was for me. Narrow (by today's standards), pretty loose flex, smallish sidecut and considerable camber. After skiing it I was pleasantly surprised. Not a charger but just slow it down and don't try to crush it and let the skis play. Super poppy, quick and surprisingly stable at anything but mach speeds. I would highly recommend this ski for anyone looking for a more laid back jibby sort of all-mountain every day ski. This would be a great quiver ski if paired with a fatter burlier ski.

Comments about Moment PB And J Skis 2012:

I demoed some of the 2012 182 PB&Js with HH tele bindings last spring at Alpine Meadows. There was a few inches of heavy fresh snow. These were absolutely amazing! I usually ski 180 Rubys. The Mustache rocker made them so much more lively and responsive. I've never had so much fun on a ski. Turned on a dime, blew through the crud, amazing in the variable sierra snow, and floated amazingly well for light fresh snow. An amazing ski for a daily driver. I hope to add a pair this winter.
