Line Skis Super Hero Skis - Boys 2012: Line has brought adult quality construction to its junior skis while maintaining their ability to be easy to handle with a light and lively feel. This is because the Line Skis Super Hero Skis are built with a full Aspen core with 4D Fibercap™ construction and P-Cut™ Geometry. These playful twin-tips will have your grom progressing quicker than ever and enjoying every minute.
Shape
True camber from tip to tail for ultimate control
P-Cut™ Geometry is a 5-radius sidecut with the tightest radius in the tip for effortless predictable turn initiation at any speed.
Construction
4D Fibercap™ construction consists of fiberglass layered in 4 directions around the core for a high strength to weight ratio throughout and an ultra lively, responsive, and sensitive feel.
Extruded Fatty Base & Edge are easy to repair.
Flex
Aspen Macroblock™ Core is made from the widest and highest quality Aspen laminates for long lasting camber and energy that is more forgiving. This 100% tip to tail wood core is the lightest, most durable in the universe.
Directional Flex has a softer tip that floats and initiates turns easily with a stiffer tail that provides reliable and powerful turn exits and stability.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Park & Pipe
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Park & Pipe
Park and pipe skis, often called freestyle skis, are for skiers who spend the majority of their time on jumps, rails, and jibs of all kinds. Traditionally park and pipe skis have narrower waists with full camber profiles, but this category is incorporating more rocker patterns and different shapes. You will almost always find these skis with twin tips as well as other park specific features like thicker, more durable edges, dense extruded bases, and butter zones.
  • Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate
    Beginner-Intermediate
Someone who is new to the sport or working on linking smoother turns falls into this ability level. Typical beginner ski/snowboard qualities include: softer materials, narrower widths, and capped constructions. The idea is to create a ride that is easy to turn and very forgiving in case you become off balance or fall in the back seat. The addition of rocker in the tip and tail gives a catch-free feeling and shorter contact length when the ski/snowboard is flat on the snow, making it easier to turn.
  • Rocker Type: Camber
    Camber
Camber is the traditional profile for skis offering skiers lots of edge hold, especially on harder snow. A cambered ski has a smooth arch underfoot and contact points near the tip and tail when unweighted. Camber skis excel at carving on hard snow; you won’t ever see a ski racer on anything other than cambered skis.
  • Turning Radius: Short
    Short
< 16 m radius is best for carving.
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Full Twin Tip
    Full Twin Tip
Desinged to allow you to ski backwards, full twin tips are found primarily on park & pipe skis and freestyle powder skis. More and more, we are seeing twin tips on all-mountain skis of all abilities, as it makes it a little easier to get around, and for the most part does not inhibit forward skiing.

Comments about Line Skis Super Hero Skis - Boys 2012:

We bought these for our 11 year old son for Christmas. First and foremost EVO was awesome to deal with. I'll for sure buy gear from them again!

These Line skis are probably great for recreational skiers. However our son is a competitive freestyle skier and a season of training and competition beat these skis up pretty badly. The tops are delaminating, there are huge gouges in the top coat and lots of splinters. He wasn't the only skier on the team with these skis. The other two athletes with them also had the same outcomes. The Lines just didn't hold up as well as similar Aramadas or K2s that other athletes on the team were using.

I would recommend them to a friend for a good recreational ski, but they don't have the durability for a season of training and competition.
