Line Skis Sir Francis Bacon Shorty Skis 2012: You’re good enough to smash powder with the bigger guys, but skinny kids skis don’t keep up and adult skis are too long, stiff, and expensive. Enter the Line Skis Sir Francis Bacon Shorty Skis. A true powder ski with a 107mm waist that is kid-tested and Pollard-approved. Your mind will be blow with the Bacon Shorty’s powerful solid wood core, Early Rise™ and Early Taper™ in the tip and tail, and a playful 4D Fibercap™ construction. Yup, that just happened.
Shape
Early Rise™ Tip & Tail: the Line Skis Sir Francis Bacon Shorty Skis have 20cm x 6mm rise that starts earlier so the tips rise effortlessly out of powder and stay on top without needing to sit back.
Early Taper™ Tip & Tail: the widest point of the sidecut starts tapering earlier in the tip and tail to reduce hooking in powder and tail drag.
G-Cut™ Geometry is a 5-radius sidecut with the tightest radius in the tail for powerful, predictable exits and less unwanted tip hooking.
Construction
4D Fibercap™ construction consists of fiberglass layered in 4 directions around the core for a high strength to weight ratio throughout and an ultra lively, responsive, and sensitive feel.
Extruded Fatty Base & Edge is easy to repair.
Flex
Aspen Macroblock™ Core is made from the widest and highest quality Aspen laminates for long lasting camber and energy that is more forgiving. This 100% tip to tail wood core is the lightest, most durable in the universe.
Symmetric Flex has the same ski flex in front and behind your boot for the same feel riding forward or backwards.
Dimensions
14m @ 155cm, 132/107/129 (all sizes)
Binding Compatibility

These skis rock. Had for a short time. Jumped up from the Afterbang shorty's to the SFBS (Sir Francis Bacon Shorty's) to help with the soft stuff. Handle great on the groomers like the Afterbangs, but showcase the agility in the powder, crud, and trees. Great "long shoes" and all day fun.

Comments about Line Skis Sir Francis Bacon Shorty Skis 2012:

These skis are awesome, and work perfectly for everything. I am A telemark skier, and I mostly do Big Mountain, and Park skiing. They are lightweight , so they are great for floating on the soft stuff, but also throwing down in the park. They are also super fat. The only problem I had was that they broke on the tip. I overshot A jump, and when I looked at my ski the tip was broken at the core. Other than that, these skis are great.

Comments about Line Skis Sir Francis Bacon Shorty Skis 2012:

I'm a 5'6" 135lb woman and these skis at 155 work great for me. These are my first pair of fat skis. I've used them twice so far. The first time was on icier snow on a lightly snowy day and the second was a heavyily snowing powder day. These handled way better in all conditions I skied than my older skinny skis, and I was so impressed with the way they floated over the thick powder in the untouched areas. They almost never catch on the snow and turning is practically effortless. The one sad thing I experienced with them is that they were scratched on my first trip, probably from being carried up with snowboards, but it was the only "con" I could think of. :) I'm only not giving it 5 stars because I'm no expert on skis and don't want to taint ratings.. I'm sure they're not "perfect," though I can't tell why.

            I. love. these. skis.

This has been a horrible year and not much powder to be had, but these skis do it all. They aren't bad on ice even which you have to deal with here in New England. I bought these skis for skiing powder and trees, and they are amazing for that - went slightly short and with the rockered tip and tail too I absolutely giggled the whole way down on my first run... floated the whole way and have never had such an easy time maneuvering. I slapped my AT bindings on them and use them for backcountry too.. they are pretty light and work just fine. The only thing I'd use my old skis for is skiing moguls at a resort. That's it. Other than that, I am in love with these skis and the graphic is awesome.

I decided to take a chance and by these skis, I have the EPPro Shorty (same specs as SFB Shorty) in 155. I have skied them in all snow conditions and have found them to be snappy and responsive. They have great float and have been easy to carve on soft groomers. I use them as my everyday East Coast ski. I would recommend them to any parent thinking about getting them for a little ripper or any "petite " women looking for a saller powder ski. I am a 5' adult female.
