Product Info

Eric Pollard's all mountain pro model, the Line Skis Sir Francis Bacon Skis are a slightly narrower and more versatile version of the Mr. Pollard's Opus. Lighter, and with a more conservative rocker profile, the 108 mm waisted Sir Francis Bacon is made for skiers who have as much fun killing it on the groomed as they do in powder.

The best all mountain boards for skiing forward and backwards. I ski these anywhere from the park to the backcountry.

Comments about Line Skis Sir Francis Bacon Skis 2014:

Took a day or so to get used to as I normally drove/charged the shovels on my previous ski (Nordica Afterburner). Once I learned to use a centered/balanced stance they worked great. Not a hard charging ski but more of a balanced play thing.

Can carve a great turn on groomers but if its been days since a storm and is icy/hard packed they have a speed limit. But then thats not what they were designed for.

Although not a pure powder ski like the Opus they still float great and would probably serve most people better unless you live near Alta/Targhee etc.

If you like the trees you will love this ski. Super easy to turn quickly in tight trees.

I never skied a twin tip/rockered ski that allowed me to ski switch so learning that now. They are super easy to slash/slarve/smear off of natural features in soft snow.

      SUPER FUN SKI!!!

Go a size longer than you normally ski as they ski short.

Comments about Line Skis Sir Francis Bacon Skis 2014:

        I. Love. This. Ski.
I can ski it anywhere, one day I had to use it in a GS race and it was so phenomenal.
These skis aren't as buttery as I expected, but that also could be my four piece boots. (I would recommend some Full Tilts) Also, there is a little tip flutter, but you probably won't realize it when you are going a million miles an hour. But gosh, does this have such a nice graphic, well done Eric. When we got dumped in December, I had the best time I ever have had skiing on these. BEST EAST COAST ALL MOUNTAIN SKI! I had wanted these skis for years and when I got them I wasn't dissapionted at all. Just remember as awesome Line is and steezy their top sheets are, they aren't the most durable. All in all I would give it 10/10. Thanks Line!!
        Peace.

Comments about Line Skis Sir Francis Bacon Skis 2014:

Set up as a side country ski with dukes. Heavy setup but manageable for shorter tours. The mounting location marks are WRONG. Check with line before you mount. Or better yet, EVO should add a note. Emailed line and got the correct measurements. From the email

Some 2013 Line models were shipped with incorrect midsole marks. This issue affects the following skis: Mr. Pollard's Opus, Sir Francis Bacon, Blend, Chronic, Future Spin, Mastermind, and Tease. Some midsoles on these skis may be printed correctly, but all of these skis should be checked to ensure proper mounting position

There is more to the email but I can't paste the rest. I mounted them 25 back from true center. Should have gone back a little further. There is a lot of tail and the tails don't want to release at the end of turns on hard pack. Will detune the tail edges and see if that helps. Stiffer than I thought it would be. Good ski for the price you can get it at the end of season.

Great ski - a true game changer for myself. Awesome flotation in powder, also works like a small airplane - i have never jumped so much as with this ski. Does just fine on the groomers too. Just buy it :)
