Comments about Line Skis Mr. Pollard's Opus Skis 2013:

I skied it once before when the ski was first coming out and then got to spend a bunch more time on it towards the end of last season. If you like Eric's skis but feel they may be a bit too soft for you I would check out the improvements in the the Opus. When it debuted last year it still had they surfy influence of the the EP Pro but with some minor changes that made it a ski you could really have confidence in variable pow. Now in it's second year it continues to be a benchmark of refined powder skis. The taper and lower profile rocker in the tip and tail minimize resistance of snow building up both running flat and while turning keeping the ski on top and reducing effort. I like the attention to detail too, Thin Tips are nothing new to Line but I have yet to really see any other company incorporate this into their designs to help reduce swing weight. It's a great ski and I am sure Eric will once again come up with something great in the future but the Opus is as good as it gets right now.

After I demoed this ski at Grand Targhee on a pow day I was hooked and it was really, I mean really hard to get back on my non rockered ski the next day. This ski can slice and dice the trees, ski the groomed well (for a wide ski) and handle the big hits. this ski can do it all.

I demoed these at Crystal on a 25" powder day and was the first one down employee housing with them. It was absolutely epic and these skis did great. They float great and are really turny and playful. My only complaint is that they're not great at charging hard through crud, but that's not what their designed for so I can't complain

Comments about Line Skis Mr. Pollard's Opus Skis 2013:

The most amazing, versatile ski I have ever owned. Can ski anything on it at any speed with any turn shape. Almost never feel unstable or out of control with this ski. Even though it is a soft ski it blew through the crud and windpack, held its edge in steep, variable snow, and railed down the groomers. I don't think I'll ever have to try another ski.

The transition from the much stiffer, more traditional Sidestash to this ski was difficult, but by the second day these skis were already a blast everywhere on the mountain.

The tips chatter and chip on hard/bumpy groomers, which I think hurts me more than the ski. The graphics are as beautiful as this ski feels, and it's hard to see the tips do this.

Comments about Line Skis Mr. Pollard's Opus Skis 2013:

EP's Opus is an amazing powder ski that also cuts it on the groomers. The tapered sidecut allows the ski to maintain its float in the pow and to cut through any crud or mashed potatoes. The flex pattern and dynamics of the ski allows you to air it out in the backcountry with increased confidence. I cannot say anything bad about this ski and would recommend it to any skier needing a powder ski that can be skied for days after a storm.

Comments about Line Skis Mr. Pollard's Opus Skis 2013:

The Opus was a really fun ski. I am disappointed I didn't get a chance to ski it in the conditions in which I think it would most excel (powder) but I could tell from how it handled elsewhere that it is a fabulous all-around ski as well. Most of the stiffness in the ski is located right underfoot, and the tip and tail remain playful and agile. Somehow, the flex comes across as very natural given the pivoty nature of the ski. It definitely skis short, like many skis in its class. I can imagine this ski being very maneuverable and slashy in deep snow!

Comments about Line Skis Mr. Pollard's Opus Skis 2013:

Before I got out on EP's Opus', I didn't know whether to mount these skis on my wall (having, in my opinion, some of the best graphics on any ski), or to actually ski them. Fortunately they performed so well I guess I'll have to do both. My only complaint with this ski is that I had so little time on them. Being incredibly poppy, I felt more nimble on these skis than my 6'2" 200lb frame normally allows. Edges felt stable at speed inspiring plenty of confidence even for a shorter ski (maybe some day they'll make a version in my size). All around a very joyful ski even on a hard pack and groomer day. I can only imagine how fun these would be on a solid day of pow in the trees. For now, I'll keep dreaming.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! The Opus is back and unchanged from last season as a versatile big mountain slaying machine. Surprisingly quick edge to edge for 118 underfoot and agile in the trees on the 185 length. Not super ideal for crud though being that it's lighter weight and not super stiff. Truly a "great work" as the name implies.

So far I've skied them on groomers, steeps with fresh and heavily tracked, and some deep snow in the trees. They've been great on everything. Very stable and yet still very responsive and maneuverable. The biggest surprise is how good they are on the groom. I have yet to ski them on moguls, ice, or frozen crud.
