Product Info

The Liberty Helix Skis are a best-seller for a reason. East or West Coast, ice or powder, the Helix has you covered with enough width to float and enough rigidity and camber to carve - all thanks to its Stealth Rocker and bamboo laminate core. If you are looking for a do-it-all destroyer, your search can end at the Helix skis from Liberty.

Product Details

Rocker Type

Stealth RockerA long, low tip rocker with camber under foot and a flat tail for easy turn initiation without sacrificing edge grip and liveliness - the Stealth also provides a no-dive/no-catch tip and flotation with control in soft snow.

Flex

Flex Rating: 7 (1 Softest - 10 Stiffest)Features a stiff under foot flex and a medium flex in the tip and tail for superior control on hardpack and playful feel everywhere else

Core

Bamboo BackboneEvery Liberty ski features a hand-made, bamboo/poplar laminate core that is light, strong, lively and eco-friendly. Each core and flex pattern is fine tuned for the intended application, but starts with the strength and durability of bamboo to provide a dependably energetic ride, time after time. If you've never ridden a bamboo-core ski, definitely give it a try.

Laminates

Quadaxial FiberglassLiberty's custom E-Glass creates torsional stability while allowing easy longitudinal flex to initiate turns and absorb terrain.

DurathaneA polyurethane bumper to smooth out the ride and protect against topsheet chipping

Sidewalls

WhitewallsA rugged and repairable sidewall material with a layer of rubber below for smooth riding and exceptional durability - Liberty's Whitewalls are made of UHMW which is more resilient than ABS, and can be repaired with P-Tex if you do manage to gouge a hole in them.

Base

P-Tex 2000A fast, porous and durable base from the industry leaders

Edges

HRC 48Liberty's specially treated HRC 48 edges feature a wider profile with larger anchors for greater durability and longer life.

Binding Compatibility

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Comments about Liberty Helix Skis 2014:

I bought these skis as a Christmas gift for my brother. He is an advanced skier who is looking for something to keep afloat in the powder but hold an edge and perform on the groomers as well. I chose this ski for exactly that. I can't review the performance of the ski but I can applaud Evo on their delivery and customer support. Top notch crew over there.

Comments about Liberty Helix Skis 2014:

Here's a little bit about me and what I ski:
Me: Chica, 30 years, 5'9″, 135lbs, love deep fluff, fast groomers, and wide powdery glades!
Location of skiing: Mostly Western and Central Colorado
Type of skiing: Downhill-mostly resort, some side and backcountry
        Boot: Salomon Quest 10 25.5
        Binding/AT Setup: Liberty/Tyrolia Adrenaline 15 AT Bindings

The Liberty Helix skis have the perfect amount of stiffness, flex and pop. On groomers, there's no comparison, they can straight line it at top speeds or make the most beautiful turns at whatever speed or condition. They never feel unstable or like they'll ski away without me. In powder they give me the perfect amount of float while still allowing me to get in deep for some face shots. The thing I love most about this ski is that on days where I want to rip as hard and as fast as I possibly can, these skis kill it and then some, never feeling too stiff, or to soft and noodly. On the other hand, on days where I want to goof around, jump off things, make big 'ol turns, throw in some spins and twirls, these skis are chill enough to hang with me while I play! I fell in love with Liberty Skis after my first pair. The Liberty Helix has been my favorite go-to skis for every condition for 2 seasons now and I don't see that changing any time soon!

Comments about Liberty Helix Skis 2014:

If you can only buy one ski, this is the one. I find myself on the Helix just about every day all winter. It does everything I want it to. Perfect width for anything from the deepest pow to hardpack and even bumps. The light weight makes it easy for me to shoulder them and hike. They are also super nimble in the tightest of trees. If I could only ski one ski for the rest of my life, this would be it.

Comments about Liberty Helix Skis 2014:

The Helix has it all. It is playful, it is fast, it is fun, and it is solid so even though there's a 3 year warranty on this ski I promise you you won't be needing (or wanting) it!
The stealth rocker keeps it floating on pow days, the bamboo is super playful while still being able to power through choppy snow, and this sucker can hold an edge like no other ski I've been on. I'm tiny and still feel super confident on the 182 for every condition out there. I can turn it quickly in tight spots and I can rail a GS turn on ice and trust this ski implicitly in any situation the mountain can throw at me. While some skis might be better for a specific condition the Helix can handle every one without batting an eye. I love how solid the ski feels even with the early rise. The stealth rocker gives you just enough lift to keep the tips from diving without sacrificing the overall solidity from tip to tail. And the flex is in the goldilocks zone: not too stiff, not too soft, it is perfect.
I have been super impressed at how well the bases of these skis have held up to some serious abuse in rocky terrain. If you're a one-ski-quiver kind of person look no further; this is your ski. Just big enough for shredding powder and still poppy and responsive enough to ski the whole mountain from bell to bell. The Helix is my go-to ski for everything from competing to mellow pow days and it hasn't let me down once. I'm going to be skiing these again, season after season!
