Liberty Antigen Skis 2013

With incredibly playful tip and tail rocker and almost completely symmetrical sidecut, the Liberty Antigen Skis excel in everything from urban assaults to good-ol-fashioned butter contests. Liberty's signature, handmade bamboo backbone core gives the Antigen the pop needed in a park ski and an extremely lively ride. If you're looking for a hand-built park slayer, the Antigen offers unparalleled playfulness in a versatile package that won't back down from any feature.
Rocker Type
Bomb Rocker - Full tip and tail rocker with slight positive camber underfoot provides maximum flotation and a playful feel.
Flex
Soft flex in the tip and tail
Mid flex in midsection
Core
Bamboo Backbone - Every Liberty ski features a hand-made, bamboo laminate core that is light, strong, lively and eco-friendly. Liberty fine tunes each core and flex pattern for the intended application, but each core starts with the strength and durability of bamboo to give a dependably energetic ride, time after time.
Laminates
Fiber Reinforced Polymer - Liberty uses sheets of this dense material under the binding area to increase screw retention and rigidity.
Sidewalls
78 Degree Sidewalls - This construction leads to increased edge grip and reduced weight. Sidewall construction is tough and affords the best combination of edge grip and turning ease.
ABS Sidewalls - Extra thick ABS over the edges reinforces against impacts and transmits energy for enhanced edge grip and feel.
Edges
HRC 40 - Liberty constructed this edge with wider anchors to dissipate heat and increase impact resistance.
Additional Features
Cab Forward Stance - Liberty's name for a progressive, more centered stance
Binding Compatibility
Bindings not included
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Specs

  • Terrain: Park & Pipe
    Park & Pipe
Park and pipe skis, often called freestyle skis, are for skiers who spend the majority of their time on jumps, rails, and jibs of all kinds. Traditionally park and pipe skis have narrower waists with full camber profiles, but this category is incorporating more rocker patterns and different shapes. You will almost always find these skis with twin tips as well as other park specific features like thicker, more durable edges, dense extruded bases, and butter zones.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Turning Radius: Long
    Long
    > 22 m radius is best for powder and big-mountain.
  • Core/Laminates: Bamboo
  • Tail Type: Full Twin Tip
    Full Twin Tip
Desinged to allow you to ski backwards, full twin tips are found primarily on park & pipe skis and freestyle powder skis. More and more, we are seeing twin tips on all-mountain skis of all abilities, as it makes it a little easier to get around, and for the most part does not inhibit forward skiing.
