Lib Tech Freeride NAS ReCurve Skis 2012

Lib Tech Freeride NAS ReCurve Skis features Magne-Traction and All-Terrain ReCurve technology that is sure to give you, well, a free ride. The always eco-friendly Lib Tech folks hand-selected the cores from dead trees, carefully choosing the wood to ensure its fibers have plenty of pop. Amazing art by Quincy Quigg on a bio-plastic bean topsheet features face-melting graphics that will leave everyone on the lift envious.
Rocker Type
All Terrain / Pow reCURVE - Rocker/Camber/Rocker incorporates the additional float, lift and pre-initiation of rocker beyond the short camber fulcrum.
Core
Correct Sandwich construction with ultra high molecular speed walls are built tough and wrapped with steel edges.
Columbian Gold Sustainable Core - Hand-selected from dead trees, preferred for its long fibers, to give your skis plenty of pop.
Laminates
Quasi-Isotropic Fiberglass Power Layers - Strength, power and pop!
Base
Sintered UHMW - A super tough base material that holds wax well due to its compression formed amorphous polymer structure
Edges
Magne-Traction™ - Adds edgehold and focuses the control and power under your feet where your balance is centered. Each bump or serration is strategically sized and positioned. The most aggressive bumps are in the center near and under your boot for maximum edgehold and control. The bumps are progressively less aggressive out towards the tip and tails creating catch-free user friendly tips and tails.
Additional Features
Anvi-Tech - Helps prevent the skis from vibrating, giving you further control and stability.
Binding Compatibility
Requires brake width of 100 mm to 110 mm

Comments about Lib Tech Freeride NAS ReCurve Skis 2012:

These skis absolutely shred anything, from groomers to 8 in of pow. I also tele and these are a great ski. Stiff and responsive but have enough pop to make things fun and spin them. I ski them ever day almost.

Comments about Lib Tech Freeride NAS ReCurve Skis 2012:

Did a demo on a powder day in Utah. They float great and even tame the moguls. Noticed the curvy edges on the lift and thought maybe a 4 year old had cut them out. Not So - Absolute Genius. Once I tried them I was amazed and had to buy them. Loved them ever since.

      Magne-traction on skis

      By JSunshine

      from Seattle, WA

      Staff Reviewer

Comments about Lib Tech Freeride NAS ReCurve Skis 2012:

This was the first time I have ever been on Lib-Tech NAS's. The magne-tractions was interesting. When railing a turn on edge it really locked in, but if you try and varry a turn or slide on edge at all it is very choopy. I'm sure it takes some getting used to but overall it does not seem great on skis. I like that the NAS series is all rockered now, but the flex of the skis was unexciting: a bit planky without much rebound.

Comments about Lib Tech Freeride NAS ReCurve Skis 2012:

Only spent a couple days on them, super solid skis. They seemed a bit on teh heavy side mounted with pivot18s. The magne traction works, what's nice is these skis handle like a skinnier ski on hardpark, not like a hover craft like most fat skis. Lots of float, I got a real deep day on them and didn't get any faceshots, they arn't very nimble, which was surprising considering the tight(for a traditional shape) radius. The stability did give me a ton of confidence for hucking, which they excelled at. If you want to ski pow fast without many turns these skis are a good choice. If you are looking for a ski that performs better in the trees I'd look elsewhere.
