The K2 Remedy 117 Skis are the cure for what's been ailing you on powder days. With K2 s widest women's platform and Powder Rocker in the tips for unmatched flotation in deep snow, you'll find yourself seeking the deepest lines on the mountain and loving those storm days. A twin tip profile lets you bring these babies around on a whim in narrow chutes or tight trees. When the snow gets tracked out, camber underfoot and All-Terrain Rocker in the tail ensure power, energy, and edge-hold. The K2 Remedy 117 skis work hard so you don't have to.

Product Details

Rocker Type

Powder Rocker TipPowder Rocker is designed for unmatched flotation in deep snow. This tip has the most elevation and longest rocker and offers skiers a surfy feel with enhanced soft-snow performance. The camber still exists to ensure edgehold in firmer conditions.

All-Terrain Rocker TailDesigned for all ability levels with added versatility and ease in all snow conditions. All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.

Sidecut

Progressive SidecutProgressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.

Shape

Powder TipDesigned to be more predictable in soft snow conditions, these tips are designed to strike the perfect balance of maximizing float while reducing tip deflection. These tips are designed with a gentle arc and transition into the sidecut of the ski.

Core

BioFlex 3A combination of 80% dense Aspen core underfoot is fused with 20% lightweight Paulownia at the tip and tail to increase performance with blended Bamboo throughout for strength and durability.

Laminates

Triaxial BraidTriaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to enhance torsional rigidity and add control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. This unique method produces skis with great torsional strength while maintaining the lively flex patterns inherent in wood.

Sidewalls

TwinTech SidewallTwin Tip specific construction increases the durability of K2 sidewall skis. Traditional sidewall construction produces a 90 degree angle where the top material and sidewall meet. The TwinTech construction rolls the top material into the sidewall, reducing the topsheet angle and making the ski less prone to damage from your edges.

Base

Swap BaseSki bases are made with inverse colors so that less material is wasted.

Additional Features

K2 Tip Grommets/Skin ClipThe new freeride tip grommet is a low profile, clean and simple design that no longer requires a plug. The durable rubber coating disguises a slit designed to accommodate the Z clip for skin attachments, or to build a rescue sled.

Z-Clip skin compatible

Binding Compatibility

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

    Comments about K2 Remedy 117 Skis - Women's 2014:

I absolutely love these skis for powder. They are super floaty, surfy, bouncy, playful, etc. Turn really easily in steep trees. Land jumps easily. Can actually charge on groomers or over variable snow on your run-out. I've only felt them "tip flap" once over some really manky snow. I'm 5'10" 143 lbs and ride the 179 cm with ease. They definitely ski shorter due to the amount of rocker. Had my bindings mounted halfway between boot center and true center which I would recommend for these skis. I love these skis so much I actually just bought a second pair because I managed to bend one of the skis on my first pair beyond repair (due to a super gnarly crash...I do not fault K2 construction for this at all, in fact I am super lucky to have walked away from the crash). Looks like K2 changed this ski to a slightly narrower waist (112) in later years...not sure why! At the outlet price on Evo these skis are a screaming deal.

    Service and delivery comments:

Prompt delivery, arrived unscathed. Evo customer service is great...missed a timed deal because I didn't click "confirm" on my order before midnight; called the next day and they took off the extra 20% that I had missed. Thanks Evo!
