K2 Luv Bug Skis + FasTrack2 4.5 Bindings - Youth 2012

K2 Luv Bug Skis + FasTrack2 4.5 Bindings - Youth 2012: Not all junior skis are alike. The K2 Luv Bug Skis separate themselves from the cookie-cutter pack with Catch-Free Rocker™ technology that makes them ideally nimble and versatile. K2’s Noodle technology allows the Indy to flex appropriately for youngsters, just like an adult ski flexes for someone of adequate weight.
Shape
Catch-Free Rocker™ is designed to aid developing skiers with confidence, control, and added ease. The elevated tip and tail assures effortless initiation at slow speeds, stability throughout the turn, and a predictable release from the turn.
Construction
PU Cap Construction is durable, lightweight, and softer, built by a sophisticated molding process that envelopes the core and internal materials with the top layer of the ski.
Binding Compatibility
The K2 Luv Bug Skis come with the Marker FasTrack2 4.5 Bindings. Thanks to the Noodle Ski System, the bindings are mounted to a plate that is fused to the ski, which allows for the ski profile to be made thinner for a flex that is more appropriate for lightweight kids.
Core and Flex Pattern
Composite core is soft and forgiving
Torsion Box construction gives the ski ease, forgiveness, responsiveness, and energy.
Noodle Ski System allows for a thinner profile ski so it flexes the way a junior ski should.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
  • Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate
    Beginner-Intermediate
Someone who is new to the sport or working on linking smoother turns falls into this ability level. Typical beginner ski/snowboard qualities include: softer materials, narrower widths, and capped constructions. The idea is to create a ride that is easy to turn and very forgiving in case you become off balance or fall in the back seat. The addition of rocker in the tip and tail gives a catch-free feeling and shorter contact length when the ski/snowboard is flat on the snow, making it easier to turn.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Turning Radius: Short
  • Core/Laminates: Composite
  • Tail Type: Partial Twin Tip
    Partial Twin Tip
Partial twin tip skis have a tail that is turned up, but not as much as the tip. This gives you the ability to ski backwards and back out of tight spaces, but these skis are mainly designed to ski forward.
