K2 Lotta Luv Skis + ERS 11.0 TC Bindings - Women's 2011

K2 Lotta Luv Skis + ERS 11.0 TC Bindings - Women's 2011: Sporting an 82mm waist and a progressive sidecut, the K2 Lotta Luv Skis offer expert level women skiers ultimate performance and unmatched versatility. Metal laminate construction and Mod Monic dampen the ride in the most varied terrain. The All-Terrain Rocker provides added tip lift and quicker turn initiation in any condition.
Shape
All Terrain Rocker – 70% Camber, 30% Rocker. Features an elevated tip for variable and soft-snow performance and camber underfoot for power, energy and edge-hold in firmer conditions.
Construction
Built with two sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski, Metal laminate skis are the highest performing and most complex construction available from K2. Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal above and below the wood core. Metal laminates provide damp, accurate, unshakable performance ideal for expert level skiers.
Included Bindings
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
Binding Compatibility
The Marker ERS (Energy Response System) is used exclusively on the T:Nine skis. The integrated hubs are closer together from toe to heel to accommodate a smaller boot sole and maintain smooth flexing of the ski. The women’s specific binding features a Triple Pivot Comfort Toe and Twin Cam 2 Heel. The Marker ERS system is a full pound lighter than the previous binding system.
Core and Flex Pattern
Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected. The optimum location and thickness of mass differs from men to women. The aesthetic look of the Mod shape has also been customized with a softened, more shaped appearance that graphically ties into the design of the skis. Although the location for the targeted mass of Mod Monic dampening is consistent between the men’s and women’s models, the amount of focused mass is reduced in women’s skis. The women’s Mod Monic is designed to accent the overall look without sacrificing function.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Carving
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber
    Rocker/Camber
Rocker/Camber skis pair a traditional cambered profile underfoot with an elongated, early rise tip borrowed from fully rockered skis. This profile places the front contact point further back from the tip, while the rear contact point remains close to the tail. The rockered tip allows for better flotation and less edge catch for increased float in deep snow, while the cambered rear stores and transmits energy similarly to a fully cambered ski.
  • Turning Radius: 14m @ 163cm
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
    Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
