Comments about K2 Comanche 5 Com Skis 2007:

I was looking at the recon but as I only ski about 5-10 days a year couldn't spend the $$. I picked up the 5Com and it totally blows me away that a ski this inexpensive can ski this well! Definitely a hidden gem.

Comments about K2 Comanche 5 Com Skis 2007:

I'm a beginner/intermediate and this is my 2nd season skiing. I am from Maine and only ski in Maine. I am 5'8", 175 lbs., athletic build, 42 Y.O. male. I generally like to cruise and carve up all areas of the mountain. I am a green/blue skier and wanted a ski that could help me as I progressed. I occasionally like to ski fast. These skis seem to like the hardpack, corduroy. I have not tried them out on the pow yet. I am skiing a 160 cm ski and they have a 13m radius and really have great edge hold and control. They definitely like to be ridden a little towards the aggressive side and are a tad heavy, but for a relatively athletic person I thought the heavy weight of the ski was a non-issue. Once you get going you'll notice they need a little more input and thus like to be ridden harder but the edge control is excellent and I found that I can go very fast with little effort. I didn't notice any chatter at speed and they felt very smooth. Of all the skis I've tried (and I've tried quite a few rentals) I was very, very happy with this purchase as I didn't get to try them first, but rather just did a lot of research before purchasing. A very well rounded ski.

Comments about K2 Comanche 5 Com Skis 2007:

Been renting all winter. K2 lover, so tried the Apache V-Force, Omni 3.5 and 5.5 from 06, and the Stryker and Recon from 07. I'm convinced they just don't make bad skis anymore. Low to mid end II skier getting better, and all skis have been fun. If I had the bucks, I'd get the Recons. However, I saved a wad of cash and bought the 5Com and couldn't be happier. Good II ski, stiff as you'll need unless your doing the Front Four at Stowe. Great carving on groomers. Downside is I've noticed a bit of chatter at higher speeds, but nothing crazy. I'd skip the 2, 3, and 4 coms and go right to the 5. You will not be disappointed. Looks great too; a ski that you can grow and get better with.
