K2 Apache Crossfire Skis: The new K2 Apache Crossfire Skis gain an additional 4mm underfoot going to 74mm giving it even more versatility in varied conditions with the same precision and accuracy on groomers that you have come to expect. The K2 Apache Crossfire Ski is the only ski in the Apache line that comes with ABS sidewall construction for the ultimate performance and hold while laying down arcs on firmer terrain.

  • Core and Flex Pattern:The core is made of Fir and Aspen that is lower density and light weight. The inherent strength, durability, and energy make this a preferred core for anyone.
  • Construction:The K2 Apache Crossfire Skis have ABS Sidewall construction. Unlike the cap construction, the contests of a sidewall ski are protected and sealed in by a vertical material on the perimeter of the ski that is separate and distinct from the top material. The sidewall material is placed directly above the edge for additional reinforcement and support. This type of construction tends to have a more precise transmission of power due to the vertical nature of the construction process.
  • Shape:The K2 Apache Crossfire Skis are an all mountain ski with a flat tail and feature MOD Technology. This means they have a secondary core applied for a smooth ride, and mass added to a precise location to reduce vibrations. Flat tails add tremendous utility to a ski by allowing you to easily plunge the tails into firm snow. You can build anchors, stake out your tent, or merely secure your skis while retrieving something from your pack.

Comments about K2 Apache Crossfire Skis 2010:

I have only skied on these twice but I learned quickly that you better be committed to your turns or these skis will throw you. Both days I went there was about 2-4 inches of powder (with some areas of deep snow), these skis definitely preform better on groomed or in the crud than in the powder. So far I think the K2 Apache crossfire will be my standard ski, but I am going to keep my Volkl Gotamas for the powder days.

Comments about K2 Apache Crossfire Skis 2010:

The Crossfire is simply the best ski I have been on. I have been skiing for over 40 years. Raced in HS, college, National Ski Patrol. Skied everything out there, hands down, it's the Crossfire!
