Using them as my backcountry setup. Lightweight skis. These skis only have a slight rocker at the tip leaving a good portion of the ski on the snow when not in powder. They are super smooth when skiing through the powder, very responsive. The first few turns I made took me by surprise as they initiated the turn so effortlessly. When skiing through chopped up powder they are very smooth and make it easy to stay forward. I'm used to rocking forward and backward through the crud on my previous 15 yr old skis. I wouldn't hesitate to buy these skis, especially for someone hesitant to get into a new rockered powder ski. They are just right for most terrain and snow conditions.

Decent all around ski. The first couple of days on them I wasn't terribly impressed, but the more I ski them, the more I like them. The tips can get a bit chattery on the flats, and they are not as stiff as I would normally ski. Good all mountain ski though.

Stability Underfoot - K2 Annex 98 Skis Offer It

By

Comments about K2 Annex 98 Skis 2015:

STABILITY - In a word, that is what one can expect from this ski. My previous all-mountain skis were 90 cm underfoot, and I realize now that that extra 8 cm does make a difference. I floated well on powder, carved (albeit with larger arcs) on the hard pack, and felt confident on the crud. If one is not used to a wider ski with a gentle sidecut, turning will take some getting used to, particularly on hard pack. I was advised "to trust the ski to turn" in my initiation, and I found that sage advice. At 5'10" and 180 lbs., I was somewhat apprehensive of the 184 cm length, but I felt pretty comfortable after my first day of use. The skis are quick, versatile, and have snappy graphics on the tops.

      Future favorite telemark ski?

      Comments about K2 Annex 98 Skis 2015:

Bought these after the season ended here in the Northeast for me. Plan on using them with a telemark binding set-up for some fun next year, mostly at resorts. These are surprisingly light for their size so I am looking forward to trying them out. Obviously I don't have the all-important snow/ice testing done yet but this looks like a four star ski to me.

      Comments about K2 Annex 98 Skis 2015:

I was greatly surprised at how well these skis performed. I have all mountain alpine skis and I have telemark NTN powder skis, but I wanted an all mountain NTN binding ski and I found them with the Annex 98. I can go anywhere on or off the mountain with these skis and not wish that I had a different specialized ski jfor the variable condition. Many skis I have too learn how to ski, these ski were an instant bonding. A home run hit in my ball park.

I put my G3 telemark bindings on these and they handle great through the powder and crud. Little softer of a ski not so rigid. Was very impressed

      Comments about K2 Annex 98 Skis 2015:

Been on the skis in an area in the trees (over my head) off 510 from Big Bay. Eelevation 1800', snow definartely 4' maybe deeper. Surface was, crusted icy top over wet snow. Next day skinned a longer route from a clearing just down the road, same snow conditions. THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW... I searched numerous websites (same as you would) purchased skis, bindings, boots and poles separately for the best year end sales. Purchases were made over a period of about 2 weeks and in the end all the equipment came from Evo. Evo consistently had: 1) desireable product (not orig pref, but now I'm thrilled) 2) best year end price and 3) my size

I ski bumps, and in the woods, but also enjoy carving down the mountain. These skis are great for all 3. They are 98s but they do not ride like that. Easy to get on your edges, but with the float you need in powder and the woods.

I took these to Maine early in the season and toured parts of the mountain that weren't open. They love the deep stuff and the crud! I have never had a ski that was as quick, forgiving, and fast in the tracked up bumpy crud. They don't hold an edge on east coast ice, but they do well on hard pack groomed trails. Can't wait to take these to Colorado in February!

Huge upgrade from my first pair of skis. These skis beg you to get a little closer to that tree, or to take that fluffy line instead of the well-traveled path. Great float and stability. Not sharp turners, but they aren't designed to be. One-ski-fits-all fun and performance.

No real complaints - able to do everything well enough but not necessarily a stand out ski.

Absolute great all mountain ski. I'm a taller guy, 6'3" 210Lbs and theses skis are perfect. Can really charge hard on them or Bounce through what ever little powder we have in the Northeast. The rocker allows the tips to float through the afternoon crud while still being able to grip on any icy conditions.

I had been eyeing these skis at my local ski shop for a while, but just couldn't turn down the this deal from evo. Not sure if you can find a better all mountain wide ski for a better deal!

                                  Comments about K2 Annex 98 Skis 2015:

I ski in the East where the conditions vary from crusty and icy to soft and smooth, often on the same run and certainly from day to day. Although the width of these skis makes one think of a powder ski, they perform well under all the conditions I've encountered (no powder!). I'm not a racer and just ski for fun, and these skis are FUN.

Real solid do everything ski. Kinda heavy but that comes with the territory in wider skis. I've skied groomers, icy/packed snow, crunch surface, and fresh powder and never had a problem with anything on the mountain. Carved and grips well on icy slopes, rips through crud and floats in powder.
