Product Info

The K2 A.M.P. Rictor Skis upholds high-end performance with a Titanal construction with the benefits of an optimal 80mm waist. Combined with All-Terrain Rocker™, the Rictor becomes the ultimate all-mountain charger. Expert skiers will love the versatility of being able to tackle off-trail crud or corduroy groomers.

Product Details

Shape

All-Terrain Rocker™Designed for all snow conditions, featuring an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance and camber underfoot for power, energy, and edgehold in firmer conditions.

Progressive SidecutA combination of two different radii that enhances the versatility of wider-waist skis. This guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.

Construction

Aspen/Paulownia CoreAspen is known for its inherent strength and durability, while the Paulownia is eco-friendly and lightweight.

Metal LaminateConsists of 2 sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski. Alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal sandwich the wood core to provide dampened, accurate, and unshakable performance.

Hybritech Sidewall ConstructionBuilt into the wider waisted Side models and combines the accuracy and powerful performance of a sidewall underfoot with the lightweight and smooth turn initiation feeling of a cap.

Additional Features

Mod TechnologyA high-performance suspension system that absorbs vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge hold, power, and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, leaving the overall ski flex unaffected.

Mod MonicA focused mass-dampener made of a solid zinc mass that focuses mass dampening at a targeted location on the Mod structure.

Binding Compatibility

BINDING NOT INCLUDED.

We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

    Comments about K2 A.M.P. Rictor Skis 2013:

I bought the skis last September shortly before moving out to Colorado. I knew I wanted the skis after renting and skiing on them for the last few seasons. The skis are so forgiving and ski like a dream. I got lots of time in on the slopes last season and a few days wher I got lots of time in on the slopes last season's and a few days Snow conditions were less than desirable and these skis held up like a champ. I'm almost thinking of buying a second pair of the skis to have for many years down the road although my current pair after taking much abuse still look like new . I couldn't be happier with the choice purchase these skis.

      Comments about K2 A.M.P. Rictor Skis 2013:

I also purchased the Rossignol Axial 120 3 to go with the ski. I have never used the Rossi before. It's still summer, so surprise, surprise, I can't comment on its performance except to say that it is very light...probably in league with the Marker Griffon. But, I wish the base of the binding were a little shorter to allow for more ski flex. Having said that, I'm not sure how important that really is. My Salomon 2012s (163cm) have an earlier Marker binding on them that has a substantial amount of footprint, and yet I can crank those skis into a really right arc and get a lot of snap coming out of the turn. And remember, the 2012s were (are) a park ski. Half of it is off the ground....50% rocker, 50% camber, 18M radius. I'd like to read more on this topic of how the binding's footprint effects ski flex. It seems to me that the greatest inhibitor of ski flex is you own ski boot sitting on top of it!

Great for intermediate/advanced skier. Value can't be beat. Good for speed and rough turns. Optimal on groomed powder but can step out of it element. Did a little back country in Vermont and they held up just fine. My only issue is that they are not twin tipped and don't worry they make up for it. Also.... The pics do these skis no justice! These skis are so sexy in person and look great on the mountain. Another great ski by K2.

Skis are great, I have been renting them for the last 5 years when I go out west and I am delighted that I finally purchased a pair of my own. Skis are very good at carving and make the ride very enjoyable. I am very happy with the incredible price I got them for from EVO. No complaints here, solid choice for a good all around ski.

Good front side ski that can deal with some trees and pow. They ski kinda short from the tip rocker and don't grip like a racing ski, but you can still carve on hardpack and get decent edge in. Turn initiation is smooth and easy. A good choice for the advancing intermediate to advanced skier that just likes to cruise and have fun.

The only bad is ice grip, will be trying a more aggressive tune to see if it helps. But it's not really the purpose of a ski like this anyway.

Just got these for Christmas and couldn't wait to get bindings mounted (Griffons) and get on the hill. First impression is...wow! Typical early season conditions for Southern California, mostly made snow on the groomers with some icy spots. I pointed the Rictors down the hill and felt like I was shot out of a cannon. Incredibly stable, tight turning, they did everything I asked of them on a day for speed. Can't wait for a powder day in the trees!

These skis are great, very forgiving, allow one to not always be on them but still enjoy the easy ride without paying for it. They carve easy, turn easy, and hold a great edge. I consider them an intermediate ski, not an advanced or expert. They are capable of smooth, high speed cruising, but do well in the trees and in deeper snow. Highly recommend them if you want one pair of skis to have fun with but also can challenge a more advanced skier.

I received these skis as a gift. I used them for a 4-day ski trip in Vermont in late December. They are amazing skis! Excellent carving and excellent grip on hard pack. Also very good in the moguls. Not sure yet how they will handle in powder or crud but so far so good.

Hot boxed waxed and tuned, these ski's are light and carve exceptionally well on groomed slopes. I have had a very enjoyable winter using these ski's.
