K2 A.M.P. Charger Skis + MX 14.0 Bindings 2012: Not quite like any other ski out there, the K2 A.M.P. Charger Skis are some of the most ideal carving tools on the market. Hybritech Metal Laminate and Sidewall construction create an unshakable platform for when your speed starts to redline. With the innovative Speed Rocker™, the Charger Skis have an added level of precision and accuracy as you quickly transition from turn to turn. These skis are made for expert level skiers who are after charging textbook turns on rock hard snow at mach-speed.
Shape
Speed Rocker™ is designed for high performance precision and agility on firm snow. The slightly elevated tip and increased tip length provide effortless initiation and flawless transitions, while camber along the rest of the running surface delivers precision, power, and edge-hold.
Construction
Mod Technology is a high-performance suspension system that absorbs vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge hold, power, and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, leaving the overall ski flex unaffected.
Mod Monic is a focused mass-dampener made of a solid zinc mass that focuses mass dampening at a targeted location on the Mod structure.
Hybritech Sidewalls are a unique blend of sidewall and cap constructions that combine the accuracy, power, and performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.
Dimensions
16m @ 174cm 122/74/106 (all sizes)
Bindings
The K2 A.M.P. Charger Skis come with the Marker MX 14.0 Bindings. This high end binding integrates with the MX Plate through Titanal hubs that are imbedded into the core of the ski for the most direct transmission of power. The system hubs are functionally wider with a 50mm footprint, which decreases the distance between the binding and the edge of the ski for added performance.
Core and Flex Pattern
Aspen and Paulownia core: Aspen is solid and dense; Paulownia is an eco-friendly, fast-growing renewable wood that is incredibly strong and lightweight.
Metal Laminate consists of 2 sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski. Alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal sandwich the wood core to provide dampened, accurate, and unshakable performance.

        Comments about K2 A.M.P. Charger Skis + MX 14.0 Bindings 2012:

I loved these skis from the very first run. The narrower waist makes for very short, crisp, turns down the fall line in hard snow conditions. These skis do not exhibit the vague tip feel and shimmy that is typical of the wider waisted ski models. They are smooth and grippy at speed due to the all terrain speed rocker. I recently bought another pair of them in a 181cm size to compliment my shorter 174cm pair. Buy some if you enjoy making excellent crisp turns down the fall line, for hard pack , groomers and bumps

            Comments about K2 A.M.P. Charger Skis + MX 14.0 Bindings 2012:

I like being able to adjust the bindings to the front and rearward in seconds to change the feel of the ski's. 5mm towards the front of center was the best on groomers. I will move them back and test in powder.
