Comments about Icelantic Pilgrim Skis 2014:

I bought this ski as a groomer day/bump ski for here in Colorado. I took them out the other day on a 4" day and they float way better on the fresh stuff than I expected and are awesome on the terrain I bought them for. Another plus was I can ski then switch and I totally didn't expect that. I definitely recommend this ski.

Comments about Icelantic Pilgrim Skis 2014:

I use this ski all over the mountain from groomers to extremes. They are best ripping down the groomers but can handle any terrain after you get used to the full camber. I put AT bindings on them and touring is a blast when the snow is good.

I use the Pilgrim all over the mountain, groomers to extreme. I put AT bindings on them and touring is great when the snow is. They are a little heavy but seem to very durable. Best part is ripping down groomers, the 179s give me great stability and control. I wish there was a little more rise and the tail but that's my only gripe!

Comments about Icelantic Pilgrim Skis 2014:

I love these skis. I do 95% of my skiing on the east coast, predominantly the Pocono's as I live in Philly. I was alwawys reluctant to buy skis when I was younger but in recent years, I have been getting out on the mountain more frequently, so it just made sense to get my own pair. I was first introduced to Icelantic while skiing a demo pair of Nomads on a visit to Loveland Pass in Dylan, CO. I loved the way the wide ski handled the powder and the maneuverability of the skis was unlike anything I had tried before. When it came time to buy a pair, I knew I wanted more of an all-mountain ski rather than a powder specific ski, considering my location....enter the Pilgrim.

This ski really does it all. Icelantic perfected the powder ski and all of the skis in their line are great for that, but this ski really carves on the crud, groomers and east coast ice. I never hit a line I couldn't hold and really gained confidence in the skis rather quickly. They have a partial twin tip and traditional camber underfooot so you cant ski backwards as easily as you can on most other models in the Icelantic line, but they are equipped to let you back up or casually reverse down the mountain. You can throw a quick jump or grind on these guys too but they really want to carve...carve anything. You are getting a handmade american product with bombproof construction from Never Summer. Find the model you want with last years artwork (Icelantic creates new art themes for every model year) and you could save yourself a ton of money on a world class ski.

Comments about Icelantic Pilgrim Skis 2014:

If these skis were tires they would be Pirelli. I bought the pair of last season 2013/14 icelantic pilgrim at bargain price but the first visit to the mountain revealed that I acquired a gem. This skis hold me on the icy slopes on poconos mountains like no skis i ever owned. They provide excellent grip and wider waist (90mm) let them to carry me faster than my old 76mm waist skis. I absolutely love them, i know ski down diamond slops faster and save the embarrassing "slippages". I do not consider myself an expert, may be an intermediary, yet this skis are so easy to control even for me. I am 5-8 tall and bought 169cm pair, which feels perfect fit for my abilities. I brought them to the shop to mount bindings with 90mm stoppers; they fit them with no issues.
The vivid graphic design stands out from common salomons and atomics, which is nice to feel original for a change :)
Bottom line is - beautiful product with exceptional quality.

Comments about Icelantic Pilgrim Skis 2014:

I am an ex-racer so carving is what I do best. I got board with skiing so I started telemark skiing and have never looked back. I have these skis mounted with 22designs Hammerheads with stiffy springs. I was looking for a full camber carving ski that had about a 15 to 17m turning radius. The Pilgrim 169 fit that requirement. I am 5'11" 170lb. My first impression of the ski was very positive and only got better as I skied it more. The ski is very forgiving and stable. The 169 length seems to work great for me and I don't see a need for a longer ski to gain any stability. It has just the right amount of responsiveness to keep it fun. The edge hold is good considering how soft the tail of the ski is. You really need to stay forward on the ski to make it carve well. If you get back at all the tail feels like mush. On a positive note it means you have to always drive the ski hard and stay in proper form. Just stay on the front of the ski and it rips. Overall the ski was a great purchase and it will be my go to ski on days that don't have any fresh snow and I want to leave trenches wherever I go.
