Product Info

The Icelantic Nomad RKR SKNY Skis are exact replicas of the normal Nomads but slimmed down for those days when you're mostly shredding on Piste. The slimmed down Nomad RKR SKNYs are developed to have quicker edge-to-edge than their big brother thus allowing them to perform far better on-piste. A true all-mountain rocker ski, you'll struggle to find a ski that is this fun, and this versatile.

Comments about Icelantic Nomad RKR SKNY Skis 2014:

The Nomad RKR SKNY 2014 model is awesome. I picked these up looking for some lazy groomer days when I didn't feel like hiking. Man did I luck out, the camber combined with the twin rocker makes turning on a dime a breeze. They perform well under high speeds without any chatter or funkiness. Grab a pair now while they are still on sale, you'll be glad you did.

Only Con I can see is that the top decking on the boards is a bit soft, i.e. it's very easy to cut deep gashes into the skis. This isn't so much a performance issue but just something to note.

Comments about Icelantic Nomad RKR SKNY Skis 2014:

Although the Nomad has been slated for the East it fits right in out West in the Sierras. On packed heavy snow these are smooth and forgiving. Put a few inches of fresh on top and they surf all over the place. Compared to a heavier wider metal top sheet ski I have (98mm) there is so much less edge hook and way more forgiveness. It transitions between turns with ease and grips the hard pack when I need it. In a 191 I can jump turn steeps, rip soft bumps, pop nolls, slash the tails around, or just sit back and cruise without needing a wider stance. Icelantic is on it with thier SKNY series for sure.

Comments about Icelantic Nomad RKR SKNY Skis 2014:

I ski the east and I already love the rkr skny. This is my first twin tip/rocker style ski, so I was glad it is a hybrid with a traditional camber under foot. In my opinion, this makes them "ski shorter". The length of the camber on these in 181cm was comparable to my old 168cm Volkl SS. I have only had them out twice in May, east coast moguls and slop, but I was amazed at how playful, surfy, buttery, light, forgiving, and effortlessly fun they were.

Comments about Icelantic Nomad RKR SKNY Skis 2014:

I own a pair of the non-SKNY for when Im skiing out west. However, I live on the east coast and the traditional RKRs are a bit wide for the hard-pack/ice of the east coast. These skis are great to float over any powder and are super responsive on the hard groomers traditionally found on the east coast. Super light and playful.
