Product Details

Rocker Type

ERA 3.0 (Evolutionary Rocker Architecture)ERA is rocker done right. For superior steering and increased flotation, ERD 3.0 features 20% tip rocker and 80% camber, paired with a progressive radius that provides increased edge contact for more grip. Finished off with an Intellirise Rebound which uses piezoelectric Intellifibers in the skis' tips to eliminate vibrations, ERA 3.0 is at the pinnacle of ski design.

AllRide RockerRocker that is equally at home on bulletproof snow as it is in powder. This profile uses early rise in the tip with regular camber throughout the rest of the ski. 20% rocker / 80% camber.

Sidecut

Progressive RadiusFor tremendous turning: Regular rocker makes skiers place their ski further on edge to have it touch from tip-to-tail. With progressive radius, up to 50% less angulation is needed to enjoy full edge contact.

Laminates

Sandwich Cap ConstructionHead takes the basic framework from its World Cup sandwich and adds a cap that just wraps over the top edge of the sidewall to make the ski more suitable for all mountain skiing. Bomber construction with a rounded top edge makes for one incredible all-mountain ski.

Intellirise ReboundHead has moved their legendary piezoelectric Intellifibers to the top of the ski. The nasty tip vibrations found on regular rockers are not found here. These skis are too smart for that.

Base

Structured UHM C BaseThe same high quality material used in Head's world-leading race skis is used here, with a different all-conditions structure.

Binding Compatibility

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Comments about Head REV 98 Skis 2014:

I ski a small mountain in the southeast but go to the great west every year. I ski about 30-40 days per year. These skis are fast, stable and quick. They are calm at high speeds without the tip splatter like most wide skis maybe due to the intellifibers. The flex is relatively stiff with a slight soft spot near the tail. I have skied the ski in light powder, groomed and ice. They perform well in all these but worked the best in the powder. They feel stiffer than the 85pros and definitely do not chatter like my Scott's which are very quick. The tips do not have a grabby feeling like my Atomics and the Heads are very easy in the crud, no pulling. Overall these are a great pair of skis and a good all mountain bomber!

Comments about Head REV 98 Skis 2014:

Bought these for a true all mountain, one-ski quiver. Ski in the West, these Rev 98's are great! Took everything I threw at them, hard pack groomers in the morning, powder and chop in the afternoon. Handled perfectly, could turn short and carve, or long and easy. Truly the best overall ski I've owned! Sold all my other skis except the true racers (SL & GS). You won't be disappointed with these and Head's quality is second to none.
